Wow! Those are some pretty robust filters you have there! Perfect for what happens to duck ponds in not very much time. I'd say that's a pretty good setup you have there. Would be nice to have a bigger aviary... like 52 square miles with a lake, but that's dreaming. This is certainly the next best thing. Pretty cinnamon teal. Not quite sure what the guy standing in the back is. Looks a bit like a harlequin duck, but without the white back markings and pointy tail. I just love waterfowl, as you can probably tell from my picture. Used to keep lotsa ducks of about every species, but a got hit by a drunk driver a few years back, and can't do it anymore. I'm glad I found this channel, because now I can vicarious joy out of what you're doing.
The pair of Harlequins is new, they won't get their mature colors until next year. I've been trying to find a pair of Old squaw for some time but have yet to find some for sale. I would love a bigger aviary but I live on a 1/4 acre and the 2 aviaries is about all I have room for. I still plan to expand a little and do more with the filter setup, I upgrade every year. The filter was new this year and kept the water clear clean and tested balanced for 5 months. With winter cold the bacteria doesn't work as well, it's all learning and experimenting.

When your able to ship some birds I'd like to buy some of your merganser
I'm hoping they breed good this spring so I can sell some next fall.
May I ask where you buy your ducks? I have been wanting a merg for a long long time
I have different breeders I deal with. I sell ducks all over the US. I should have Hooded mergansers in the 2024 breeding season.
@@duckdays9451 alright. How do I contact and buy?
