    CINEMATOGRAPHY --- CHECK
    SPECIAL EFFECTS --- CHECK
    ACTION --- CHECK
    STORY --- ???????
Everything I'm SEEING from season 2 of Halo The Series LOOKS good. However, I was really hoping to get a sense of the narrative direction from the Official Trailer, as I feel like that's where the wheels fell off in Season 1. Instead, we got another HYPE trailer, which, to be fair, promises some really awesome fight choreography and action set pieces. I hope this season can deliver and bring us a HALO STORY we can rally around. What are your thoughts?

Do you want my honest thoughts? My HONEST thoughts are that it's very refreshing to see such a mature take on it, and that your points of critique go beyond "no helmet = bad". Thank you! S1 nailed a few things, and faltered in others. So, let's hope S2 tightens up the weaker issues from S1; Kwan's story and character, and the overall pacing being the biggest issue I had in S1.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for the fall of Reach.

I know exactly what you mean about the helmet conversation. I was beyond that after I first saw episode 1 of Season 1. It is what it is. I was never particularly married to the idea that he had to keep it on, but maybe that's also because I've read the books and had time to be immersed in that worldbuilding where I followed his journey up to and after Mjolnir.
I certainly do think there were a lot of good things in Season 1, such as Silver Team in general. I love that they've steered these promotional materials towards developing them more. That's part of the "Halo" I'm looking for. In addition to what appears to be the fall of Reach.
My biggest wish is that we would get even an entire episode dedicated to the formative years of young John 117, and really showing how luck is a part of who he is. It's touched on briefly with the military abduction scene in Season 1, but I'd even like to see the formation of Silver Team and how John 117 came to be Team Leader.
I want to be hyped out of my gourd, but I remember how amazing I thought the trailers for season 1 were, and how I felt like I never got THAT show that was marketed to me. I don't want to be fooled again. So, I'm keeping expectations tempered.
I'm hopeful, though. And that's the best possible place to be!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it!
