An incredibly moving and inspiring sermon - the concluding section brought me to spontaneous tears. Thanks be to God for the ministry of Dr. King and of Ambassador Young.
I love this first hand account of someone who walked along side the great MLKjr. I never tire of hearing his story. In those days I wasn’t aware of much of this history bc I didn’t like in the US and my family protected my sis and I from the happenings here. So each time I read or hear his history told, a deeper respect wells up in me.
I listened live yesterday and here again.
Thanks be to God for preserving his short life and great impact.
And it’s so good to see Andrew Young yesterday. I wish him well.
And thanks to WNC for being a place of worship and celebration for ALL peoples. All the time.
Very informative and captivating sermon. I learned so much. Thank you Ambassador Andrew Young
GOOD. Afternoom. GOD. Bless. YOU. ALL. From. Brazil
I'm from Chicago and I was in Atlanta listening to Dr Young give this sermon.
What a sweeping history,….I love the part about how "we're all part of the community for entering into this church." I love Washington National. This sermon is right up there
with all the excellent preaching at National including the sermon by Vashti McKenzie and even by Brene Brown. Can we hear the central theme ?
Indeed a celebration it was. To sit at the feet of a master griot--the last of his kind--and bear witness to accounts of conversations with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We should all be so lucky. If not the most remarkable day, for sure the truest blessing. Thank you.
Thank you, we were in awe to be blessed by such an iconic man, constant public servant, friend and a shared life seeking justice with Martin Luther King, what an amazing
historian we heard today.

Amb Young shows us how the civil rights movement is so important to our spiritual growth in this country. I have just finished Sacred Grounds and loved this sermon and truth saying.
Exceptional leader-- then and now. He and Martin
Oh, I'd love hearing this speech Young still got the stuff he's old, but he's mellow and he has history!
Wow! Thank you for this and thank God for Andy Young and his witness.
Same . He has earned the privilege of living to be a senior , when so many of his kindred spirits have not , and I hope he lives to see
America's semiquincentennial year and beyond .
mr young was president jimmy carter ambassador to barbados in 1978 amen thanks geoffrey.
He was on the balcony in Memphis with King the day he was shot, he's the last one left I believe. I wish they'd had never stood on that balcony or they'd had security checks in the Lorraine Hotel area. In those days they didn't. King wasn't aware. 😞
He started out in a nice hotel. They shamed him into moving to the Lorraine Hotel where they had his assassin waiting.
@@emmameans9398 I didn't know that, thanks. On MLK day all I think about is that photo of him on the balcony of the Lorraine. Andrew Young was right with him. It's just a tragedy like JFK assassination.
Blah, Blah , Blah.
A truly beautiful, inspired Eucharist. I like the way the Walker fits into the cathedral music now. Please review microphone placement now for the Choir because they are getting lost in the video. Many thanks!
