The engine of this Jaguar XJ40 is worth more money as scrap aluminium than as a complete engine.. De motor van deze Jaguar XJ40 is meer waard aan aluminium dan als motor..
@timlad5 The same overhere, the car was purchased for a couple of 100's to be used in a destruction derby. For this race they swap the engine with a Ford v6, the original engine is scrapped for the aluminium, which is worth more than the running engine. Driving this car on the road is too expensive and only real enthousiasts would do that.
If anyone doubts who well that Jaguar motor stood up to this abuse and how long it took it for check out their other video killing the VW Golf lasted about 2 minutes! Shame they have nothing more productive to do and I would hate to live in those houses near them.

Holy fuck you people are sensitive. It was an old piece of shit jag with a gutless engine. Yeah, it was fairly tough, but fundamentally old jags were some of the least reliable cars around. Oh wow 325 thousand kilometres that's so much! Please, my dad's daily driver ford f-150 has over 450 thousand and still running without a problem (it's the 4.6 liter V8 by the way). Anyway, the body was fucked, and that's the only thing on these old jags that's worth anything. And you may be thinking "well they could've done something better than kill it" no, not really. It was headed for the scrapyard, where I'm sure there's plenty more of these with running engines.
jason38781 No no no no no. That van is Japanese, jags are british. Age has nothing to do with it. The older jaguars are regarded as some of the most unreliable cars in the world, hell, even top gear, the show obsessed with british cars makes fun of them
Brendan Sheehy Just proving how good Japanese cars are, I know all about old jags my parent's had them when I was young. They were under 10yo but still very unreliable. As a work car cant beat Japanese.
Right now I'm in China, a 1985 second hand VW Santana will cost around 3500 euro... People in the Netherlands just are too spoiled and throw away cars with shiploads together.
Even though I think it was a waste. It is moments like this that will show the true integrity of a manufacturer's engine design. I personally could not believe how long that engine kept going. Makes me proud to own a Jag.
@BillysAutomotive I didn't saw junk, we saw a nice collection of scrapmetal, alloy wheels, aluminium engine, catalyst and wiring. ______+ =more than anyone would pay us for this 'project'.
Totally agree , the Merlin engine built by Rolls Royce used in the Spitfire had the jerry's and their infamous Luftwaffe running with their tales between their legs. That Aircraft and engine used is another prime example of British engineering . So please Uber when referring to one of our beloved Big Cats (jaguar) use your words carefully. The filler cap is a slight design flaw but was designed to be easy to fill up at fuel stations.
***** What are you on about? never said anything about your "beloved Big Cats". I just asked you what the second world war has to do with this. Your "british engineering" is just one aspect of it all. Don't be cocky, without the help of America etc you guys would've been nowhere either and please don talk me about your "Jaguars", they never run a hundred miles without problems. I've had one myself..
everybody seems to love Yvonne and this clip. You do it right. What I been calling for for years: more engine shots(heck you even give us some piston/cylinder shots), and of course a pretty girl doing the damage.
And when Yvonne gets old, it is just fine to beat her to death with baseball bat with big laughter instead just putting her to casket when her time is up?
@Jeno996 Even in poor countries they don't want these jags.. Never wanted for export. I know what value is, I drive a '86 Toyota Corolla diesel and I don't like new cars. It's crazy to see what we all throw away, we've destroyed many cars which could have been driven on the road for years. But everyone is just spoiled and an old car isn't good enough anymore.. Well.. good for us!! We have plenty to wreck! Thank you throw-away society!
@TheTdu2 Who are you talking about and what is this with farmers? Do you ever wonder where all the food comes from what you eat? I suppose these insults were addressed to me. Well I'm not a farmer. I have another XJ40 for sale for you, I suggest you buy it, otherwise I have to kill that one too and you will be crying about it again.
Check out our channel, you'll find many more ways which are more spectacular ;-) On this car we could only break the engine. The owner wanted the body of this car returned in one piece to use it for banger racing.

To those people who have stated that the engine is Ford ,it is a JAGUAR engine and that is why it lasted so long. The people are doing a lot more than just revving the engine too! Pretty girl? Really? Idiots playing with fire and petrol like a kid with matches, low intelligence.
It's a straight six engine. This one is, at least. Was also available with a V12. Do agree it's incredibly painful to see a stunning car such as the XJ40 get demolished.
What? I drive a 1972 XJ12. The older, V12 version of this car. It's really not expensive. I use it daily, in conjunction with my old Landy as a work and private vehicle. Fuel is a little pricey, what with a 5.3 litre V12, but not ridiculous. Tax is free, insurance is low, maintainence is minimal. Even if the engine is worth more in peices, break it down, sell things like the manifolds, cams, cranks, valves, pistons, and whatnot. Make more cash, save on petrol, and leave a poor Jag in peace.
I understand that but the car was full of rust. It was ready for the scrap yard anyway. Aluminium has a high value here. In fact it's value is higher than that engine is worth running. Thats why they blow it up.
Did any one of you think of stripping the engine down and selling it as individual parts to people who might really be needing some, to keep their pride and joy on the road? Or was the testosterone-induced urge to destroy stuff just too much to pass up?
@M5Eric Heej Eric, leer eerst maar eens een keer driften met die M5 van je ;-) Over kansloos gesproken. Get a job?? I'm a bachelor of engineering, working 5 days a week.

Or was the testosterone-induced urge to destroy stuff just too much to pass up?
they cant strip it down and sell it because those cars are given to them fir nothing so it aint fair then tgat they are making money for it
Fucken parts were already a goner. Only thing stopping it from exploding was probably the fucking duct tape
I know a chap who runs one just fine. I run one of this cars older sisters, a '72 XJ12. They're good beasts, if you look after them.

Such a shame, the AJ6 engine in these things, is a work of art. Take it out, strip it down, polish the block, very cool wine rack!.
