A very good film, with an interesting approach to the matter.

Good screenplay without being drowned in CGI and props.. The ending was a bit confusing to me and I would have gone a different route.. Maybe crossing the barrier stops the pain of the gunshot wound symbolizing the crossing from life to death and stumbling onto the corpse from the future would have had a nametag matching the WW-2 soldiers showing that his grandson will die in the same place as he did x# years in the future.. At some point several soldiers from these different times while struggling with each other realize that they are indeed dead when children run by playing as if they were not there..

Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate all your in depth thoughts and glad the film can invoke a deep critique. The name tag idea is really interesting, my only concern would be making the experience too closed of a loop rather than implying that near pointless battle for power by showing yet another dead American, not necessarily his own flesh and blood, but that would add more to the tragedy and devastation. I like your image of an overall more pointless conflict, or a fruitless one. My ending is to imply that there is in-fact a deep point to war and conflict; that it’s not all good nor all bad and that now our lives and our need for conflict is trapped between only a few men and we are left out of the loop. That being said, all the wars that did nothing to improve our way of life, all the wars that have been forgotten, would have been an excellent angle to explore, I’d like to consider tapping into this for a future project.

@@sammenell2897 Solving the closed loop with several other main characters like the German soldier, other US soldier in the opening minute and the modern soldier even the unseen machine-gunner all with their own stories, points of view that need not be focused on the others but loosely woven together.. I hope your creativity and shown skill will give you success and personal pleasure for many years.. I often wonder with my sometimes vivid imagination if I am not just part of someone else's movie..

He has a plastic canteen. In WWII they were still metal

Indeed, that was intentional! The character Adams experiences a form of time travel or time "unravelment" in the film. He's perturbed by the canteen because of not only its unexpected presence but because he also notices it's made out of plastic and therefore not standard issue. Also service canteens at the time were made out of Led, lol, so a little hard to shoot with an authentic canteen.

Pretty good film Sam but a little too original. Originality is not very “in” right now. You know what the people want? Nose Goes 2. What ever happened to good old fashioned action? I don’t want to think or feel things. Be better!

Actually no since this is similar to a Twilight Zone episode and a time travel during combat movie I can't recall the title of.. Escaping reality to find the alternative just as confusing and dangerous mimics what our lives are every day with travel, work, family and more..
