Fantastic! So many people start a boat but never finish. Congratulations on a beautiful, excellent performing boat! Mr Woods is (in my opinion) one of the top multi-hull designers in the world.
Great job Sir, on the beautiful boat and on the video as well. You must be anxious to have her completed and take the family out for a sail. When she is finished, you might want to consider entering her in the Florida Everglades Challenge boat race. You would probably do well with that design of trimaran.
Thank you. I had my first Sail today with an old small sails but I was surprised by its performance, The Boat is fast.. Hopefully, I will upgrade to larger new sails next season.
@@andysphicas6530 looks a lot like the strike 18. Indeed it was a search for that that brought me to this vid. Plans here www.fyneboatkits.co.uk/plans/sailing/strike-18-trimaran/
Ted. I plan to build the rudder and tiller around April or May. I will try to capture the whole process in details and post but I'm sure you will find a way to overcome your challenges. All the best with your strike build.
So....that appears to be a Strike 18 with an added centerboard slot... Pretty cool... I have a strike 18, and I just finished adding the bottom of the mast base to the top of the kingpost. I can't figure out the rudder shape and how to get the tiller to go uphill into the cockpit.I also have to add a singlehanded mast raising device. I am really close to launching. I hope you finish, as there are no good videos of a strike 18. It's like they were filmed in the 80's they are so bad....
Tom Williams Hey Tom, after reading this post about singlehanded mast raising (a year ago, but may still be helpful) check out dr Frank777(on You Tube). His boat is not even close to a Strike but the way he raises his mast is just too cool! Maybe it'll give you some ideas.
john hanrahan Thanks John....Yes..I know Frank, and am currently building his slingshot 16 trimaran. I don't think he still uses that "E Z up mast system". At this years Everglades Challenge, on the inspection day, the day before the race, he showed up with his 2 seater version , called the slingshot 19 and he took me out for a ride in the boat. It moves really fast. He is a heck of a builder.
