Do you have to adjust the hook/needle timing when you change needle sizes? My Juki DL-5550’s stitches went all wonky when I put in a larger needle. I had to readjust the sync. (Hope you understand what I’m saying, I don’t know all the technical words to describe what happened.)
My feed dog needle plate was lost on the day I was given my vintage industrial Bernina about 15 years ago, making it useless all this time. They said the part was no longer manufactured.
😆, I sewed on these in four different sewing factories. Had these machines been painted beautiful colors, I seriously believe they would have inspired twice as many people to go into the clothing manufacturing business. Aesthetics are important. Beauty is important. My machine is this same drab, uninspiring color of wet clay. Whoever chose the color must not have cared whether or not his house or wife was pretty, either, and if a woman chose it, I’m imagining a middle-aged, overweight, female gestapo prison guard.

How to change on a DDL 7000A feed dog and feed plate for light weight mache
That machine is a little scary looking, if I'm honest.
