one thing i like most about Sanguinius is his relationship with his legion. some people say he's too much of a goody two shoes, but honestly that's just plain old untrue, and two it's his relationship with his legion which really makes him special in my opinion. he was the only one who loved them unconditionally and it's because of that, they changed from mindless berserkers to noble warriors. also just a quick aside. i really like your choice of music for this one. very well matched.
I always thought of him as a savage, like the art and good humor are the tools employed to keep the natural instincts they have at bay, I think my favorite character of the legion that embodies this and his father's Savagery was always Mephiston. Some of the best reading on him treads that line between good and, well.. Blood Angel. Edit: I would say second only imo to the Lion.
It is noteworthy that while the other Primarchs allowed their sons to bow before them, Sanguinius hesitantly told his sons to never bow in his presence. The one time a Primarch actually bowed to their sons except for Sanguinius was Vulkan. You also get the feeling that Sanguinius really did care for his sons not just because they are his warriors but rather he sees them like any normal parents see their child. He was even happy when the Sanguinary Guard offered their services directly to him without Sanguinius telling them that he needs bodyguards and that he also allows his sons of any rank within the legion to speak their own mind when he himself is struggling to make a decision.
Great story! However, Horus actually did bow before his sons and even others many times. He even even before knealt before Garviel Loken and the Mournival as well. But yeah, Sanguinius was awesome

Sanguinius is my favorite primarch, he was loyal, brave and extremely caring of his son's, brothers, father and even the people of the imperium. After reading a recent Horus heresy books sanguinius not only killed a chaos titan but, fought a deamon angron, but ka buhnda. No wonder why he was so worn out when he fought Horus.
actually contrary to popular belief there were no exceptions when it came to how his brothers felt about sanguinius. deamon angron was visibly calmed down when lorgar brought up sanguinius in conversation. kurze felt that out of all of his brothers only sanguinius could judge him. the only one I can't seem to find out anything on was how mortarian felt about him. but thats only because the angel has so little screen time.
The issue with him and the legion as a whole is that we are told lots but shown very little. Ralderon is the prime example. Meant to be a top level captian but does nothing for the entire heresy. Its such a shame as there is so much potential there for storytelling and I can't help but feel it's been wasted.
Sanguinius exceeded his brethren in humility, duty, loyalty, compassion, fearlessness, perseverance, inspiration, strength. Unique in every respect, a bulwark of hope and an example of a hero to all who come. Simply fantastic video in every way. Congratulations.
That final passage by Lemartes is everything that it means to be a Blood Angel, in a way that anyone out there with the Blood Angels codex sitting on their bookshelf will understand.
My favorite Primarch. He only looked like a good too shoe to those who didn't know him and see his wrath first hand. He taught his sons to not be revenant but noble and loyal to those who deserved it and using art and honor to hold the wrath in check till an enemy arrived that deserved that wrath. Then unleash it to devastating effect for those not worthy of noble combat.

I have a bit of a chuckle every time it's mentioned that the Primarchs have 'secrets' they keep from the Emperor...the greatest and most powerful Psyker ever, who would constantly be monitoring the minds of those closest to Him to whom he has given power. Telling me He didn't know about the genetic issues with His own creations?...that it was a secret from Him...I don't think so.

The shard of sanguinus in dante called to the legacy of the angel. And he rose,and proclaimed his legacy. "I AM SANGUINUS. I AM THE ANATHEMA TO SLAUGHTER. WE FIGHT NOT FOR THE EMPOROR BUT BECAUSE THIS DAY IT IS RIGHT!" the chapter master radiated with the astronomicons fire. Abbadon and the legion raged at the angels coming. The 2 fought with blazing fury,darkness old as the inperium clashed aganst the angel reborn. And aganst dante and sanguinus abbadon was ash before the angels fury. With abbadon dead,dante would recede from the light of sanguinus. The angels were surprised. Yet saddened. Dante lied motionless. In the warp,it was as if a supernova exploded out. The sun eyed the chaos gods. And the ruinous powers fled in fear of the angels sin of existance. To be continue

My own personal retconn for Sanguinius vs Horus. Sanguinius falls to the black rage and begins to push back Horus. The chaos gods realizing this abandons Horus and begins to corrupt a more vulnerable Sanguinius (due to black rage). Sanguinius subdued Horus just in time for the Big E to show. This shows Sanguinius fighting against fate and prevailing however he fully falls into the clutches of the Chaos Gods. The Big E hesitant to kill Sanguinius receives mortal wounds before finnaly slaying Sanguinius and freeing him from the clutches of the Chaos Gods. Horus awakens, unsure of what just happened and the Big E uses his last remaining strength to wipe out Horus completely and ollanus pious too to make sure Horus doesn’t tell the “truth” of what happened.
I hate to say it and sorry if I'm wrong but isn't the gene seed flaw the Red Thirst?, the black rage wasn't present until after Sanguinius died .After all, the black rage is them having visions about being on the vengeful spirit and fighting Horus
One of the potential origin points for the black rage was during the book fear to tread where the blood angels were deeply affected by an all consuming psychic rage which was supposedly an amplification of what was already there. One of the theory’s of why the black rage exists through every blood angel is because the events in signus having broken the metaphorical seal on the preexisting rage which we are both told and shown in the book come directly from Sanguineous who is a being of restrained rage. When Sanguineous came back his presence pushed back the rage that had spread and once more restrained the natural rage within his sons. Then when Sanguineous died that rage came pouring back out and had the psychic death echo of Sanguineous melded with it giving rise to the modern black rage. However in recent books we are given the suggestion that both the red thirst and black rage were to some extent made by the emperors very own design but being changed amplified even though the passage of time.

Yea so... sanguinious had black hair it states in the book during the war on the planet murder. I notice that every picture of him has this wrong, unless that was something that was added later. I know the table top was out way before the books so I'm not sure which one is cannon 🤔. I know that's something that may not matter to some people just something I noticed.
The painting that depicts the death of Sanguinius on the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit shows his hair to be blond. This is one of the oldest and most iconic depictions of Sanguinius. He is also officially painted with blond hair for his Horus Heresy Model. Games workshop is a model and game company first and foremost. The Black Library description is in error.

His librarians did. Besides primearchs have super healing. They can take any wound and keep going. Like even bolter rounds to the head are a minor inconvenience. Like loyalist fulgrim was shot in the head with a needle gun.(this things can go through terminator helmets.) it mildly bruised him and he got a bit annoyed. Also, flugrim has super super super healing. Like his sons were trying to cut of his leg with a blow torch to perform an exorcism and the flesh would regenerate as fast as the blow torch was cutting.

His librarians did. Besides primearchs have super healing. They can take any wound and keep going. Like even bolter rounds to the head are a minor inconvenience.
Like loyalist fulgrim was shot in the head with a needle gun.(this things can go through terminator helmets.) it mildly bruised him and he got a bit annoyed.
Also, flugrim has super super super healing. Like his sons were trying to cut of his leg with a blow torch to perform an exorcism and the flesh would regenerate as fast as the blow torch was cutting.

@@62sy i actually like that they are so mortal, shows the greater scheme of things that is 40k, 1 man cant win a war of warhammer. Although being 3 meters tall and having boots of 500 pounds and having half of your chestplate lowered by a crane is pretty godlike( just red that in dark imperium book on guilliman getting armored).
