Ben is incredibly talented but I feel like a white guy shouldn’t play a famously Puerto Rican character (Unless I’m switching my gangs around, because I haven’t seen the show in a while, in which case, ignore me)
@@sarahcrossman8444 Tony is Italian I believe... I don’t remember which ones are the Sharks and which ones are the Jets, but I do know that Tony is friends with the Italian gang but falls in love with Maria (sister of the leader of the Puerto Rican gang)
Its very limited in scope. There were musical theater vocal moments that preceded the mid 1990's. There were some in 1980's, 1970's, 1960's 1950's 1940's 1930's Matter of fact Showboat was on Broadway in 1927. They are sitting in vinyl recordings, some early tape, and recreated for television shows like Ed Sullivan or a variety of talk shows or movie musicals which sometimes even had duplicated some members of the broadway cast. When did we decide musical theater only impacted the last two generations of Americans?

@@BTURNER1961 West side story was originally from 1957 and the songs from falsettos shown here were from 1981. I don't see that the scope is limited just because they have used recent recordings? also if you are a younger person you are less likely to have heard vinyl recordings from the 20s and 30s. If you have that much of a problem with the video make your own!! No one at any point suggested that musical theatre only affected the last two generations of Americans!
