    Nice video!
Was going to build one back in the nineties but never did. Got to fly in several of them. Was able to talk with Mr. Vollmer on the phone a few times about his plans.

I just wonder how calm it has to be to use them on the water.

@@embededfabrication4482 yeah they can’t take too much wave action but you can still get plenty of enjoyment out of it

Those who are interested in building a Volmer Vj22, wing selection is very important. The Champ wings are designed to max AUW 1400lbs. I believe a Rotax 912 as a tractor engine instillation would be ideal. The Volmer Vj- 22 has an excellent hull, I am told developed from an Italian flying boat from the 1930 which was very successful. Birch plywood is essential on the VJ22, with a VERY light coating of glass and epoxy. The Cub wings are a no no for this type of aircraft. Avoid a retrercatable tail wheel not worth it. Build a fix tail wheel of 50% wheel bellow the rear of the hull. Greatly simplifies, the flying of the aircraft on land and water.

Thanks for the feedback. I found the Volmer Vj22 a very honest aircraft, and very rugged on the job!!
