Everybody is trying to take over some tiny little blue ball floating through space, while Azathoth is just taking a nap somewhere beyond the edge of the Universe.
Azathoth sits in the middle of the universe, he sleeps, and we are his dreams; when he awakens - we all die. So, everything has a vested interest in keeping him asleep, on this, both good and evil agree.
For those interested, in the book series "Harbinger of Doom", Azathoth is the name of the one true God who was killed by one of his angels hence known as the Harbinger of Doom. I highly, HIGHLY recommend looking into the novels if you enjoy dark fantasy that's heavily inspired by Norse mythology and Lovecraftian tales. This music really takes me back to chapters within Azathoths realms. 🤘
Is this the same azathoth that's like Cuthulu's great great(possibly more) great grandpa or something? Or is this a different mythos?
@@redadmiralofvalyria867 Azathoth is a creation of Lovecraft, first appearing in Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath (one of his earliest tales but only published posthumously) as the blind idiot Daemon Sultan: a bad dude you do not want to be dragged before. The name combines Arabic and Egyptian sounding elements and is reminiscent of Dunsany's somewhat ironic faux mythologies (Gods of Pegana etc)-DQoUK has that playful tone). Azathoth appears again in a similar role in Dreams in the Witch House but its darker and he's involved in mathematical witchcraft. in both version the blind idiot daemon sultan is served by his soul and messenger Nyarlathotep, who is a sardonic even witty figure. The version don't map exactly, much is hinted and the tone varies, but its not great to meet Azathoth. There's not an exact crossover with Cthulhu, who sleeps on earth having come from elsewhere, Azathoth is definitely elsewhere. that said there's links: in DitW the dreamer visits another planet where the old Ones dwell, and in At the Mountains of Madness their relatives in Antarctica lost a war to Cthulhu and his star spawn.
@stephen Morrissey huh, interesting, out of (even more) curiosity he's called the "blind idiot" God cause he's dreamed up reality, and if he wakes, we all die(or dissappear or something) but is to stupid to care about that?(or something, again I'm not really expert in Lovecraft)
@@redadmiralofvalyria867 yeah something along those lines. Personally, every time I read "Azathoth" I think of the Harbinger of Doom series. 😅
@@redadmiralofvalyria867 The idea of a god who if he wakes up and we all die is in Dunsany's Gods of Pegana (a dreamy mockery of ancient scripture by an Irish nobleman who greatly influenced Lovecraft) in the person of Mana-Yood-Sushai. In The Music of Erich Zann Lovecraft presents an Azathoth type chaotic black void that has to be lulled to sleep by frenzied playing, so you're onto something. In both Dream stories (DitWH and DQoUK) Azathoth is sort of a thrashing lump, not really asleep. Gee I haven' read this stuff for years, had to consult a volume about Dunsany, your questions are bringing back deep memories.

You absolutely understand the aesthetics ,or the things to be seen, as expressed in the writings of Lovecraft,other authors who expanded his world ,and all the art and movies that have come after. The green with the sparkling…somehow you know. You must have tapped Lovecraftian Gnosis yourself. I know this because the music and the scene are too perfect for what I just said to be wrong.🙏🏻💚
Thank you very much, Valentius, humbled by your comment. Lovecraft is a passion of mine, I have narrated many of his stories, and have wanted to mix ambient music themed around his mythos for some time.

Role playing? Like ensembled casts akin to a play?
@@Juggler1525 Mmmm...more or less. They're generally set and themed in such a way as to cast the listener into a passive or semi-active role in the action that is going on, but mostly in a sort of storytelling mode. Some of the episodes do have a decent ensemble of voices (one episode has at least seven distinct character voices in it.)
@@Juggler1525 it's a newly popular genre on UA-cam that allows individual users to immerse themselves into whatever is going on in the video by pretending to be a part of it.

What if Azathoth is another name for the Biblical God. If that was the case, then Azathoth would also be an all-loving god and bring fear on the wicked and bring hope on the righteous.
Too quiet, but if you make the sound louder - pure pleasure.
It's a crapshoot with volume: I've had some people complain my ambients are too loud for sleep, others like you feel they are too quiet. Ultimately, I have to pick a volume, and these are calibrated to be the most useful for the widest viewership. I mix via Beyerdynamic cans primarily for earbuds--what most are using while relaxing, sleeping, etc.

Sounds dirty, compared to the organic dark ambient
I'm not sure what you mean. In all my years making dark ambients, I've never run across the concept of "organic."
@@EldritchSleepMachine I have done some soundbooks/audiobooks of my literature, and filosofical things,,, And I needed music and ambient to it,,, So I found out how to make just that, music and ambient music,,, "Mystic Romantic, new music part1" is a video about this, and is new music styles,,, people had said I am not allowed to use synth sound for music, so when I begann to create the Organic Dark Ambient, it was based on real instrument, regardless how much digital:ization it needed, to become a ambient, sometimes dark, other times in the middle,,, how much that is used in movies that are of real sound, I do not know, but depends on the mood?
