Going to buy new pedals tomorrow, spent all day looking at what's good and ya'll came out as the most recommended composite flat by actual humans that actually ride lol. I'm sure I'll also be 28% happier on my new Defttraps.

Great video. Can a washer be used to shorten the pin length? Any ideas on how to reduce the sharpness of those pins? Any chance of developing a pedal with all plastic molded in pins just like the two on this pedal (I think there would be market for them)? I am ok with the stock pedals on my Fuse Comp, but just like your video I would like more surface area front-to-back (toe-towards-heel), the longer the better for how our foot is designed to push (e.g. like if you do heavy squats or leg press machine -- very bad to push at the balls of your feet).
I'm 28% happier when I ride with my Diety pedals on a 52 lb giant trance x emtn bike. Going up 8 mi to 10,000 ft means you got to get in the cadence and just use the torque slowly and you can really feel the pedals when you get used to them. On the same downhill you get going so fast that you really want a platform you can trust.
28% is a win!

What's the pin to pin distance front to back? Also, what's the Q-factor?

no. You should use NS Bistro pedal. More grip than plastics but less gnarly than a pinned pedal.

On pedals, these are the best. Especially for my size 13 foot.
One up pedals say, their pedals are convex for the arch of your foot, who rides with the arch of the foot anyway??? Load of Shiite.
pins are too thin and easily broken. and a year after the platform has been ground badly by ground striking.
For the average rider this peddle is durable enough. So what if it wears away after a year of heavy use you can afford to buy a new one bc of its price point

Pedals nor bicycles revolve around world champion singletrackers on brutal terrain. Those boys gave us STRONG durable parts after that we dont need 3 inch knobbies stabbing th earth 2try & ride 2Walmart on 10truckloads of squirm & thresulting friction.
A bicycle here 2carry things point & shoot on thsmooth. Corner once in a while. Carry stuff.

I ride a heavily modded Sunn Charger S2. U must have super strong & looong legs, ground clearance & a *&^%ing kickstand.
All bicycles should be massively strong of long legz like my Sunn. PERIOD. There should be 1 design. But my Charger a piece of sphagetti compared 2how strong a bike could SHOULD be made if I we made it.
Think THIS way.
Please do this test. Mount 20 to 100lbs anywhere on u bike. Wiggle the bars. Everything is flexing like sphagetti.
Where I am is ALWAYS where u people will be.
I was th 1broke hour record 30 times4 30guys.
I have evolved.
Note I am now running with my head 1 to 2 foot lower then yours seat slammed 2 th frame with ground clearance 2" higher then average Mt. Bike massive stanchions etc. compared 2 thnorm.
Strong with lotss suspension. Get it?
My hands 30" apart = massively STABLE triangle LOW CG SAFE SECURE REDUCE STRESS ON TH BRAIN, PLANTED, OPTIMAL HANDLING machine with insane aero dynamics. I was world champion sailplane pilot formerly.

Pedals shouldnt need 2 sides. Having 1 side will get u 300grams & a lower seat/ ground clearance
Just use plate duraluminum with sandpaper as pedal.
Pedaling done axle centered beneath leg bone always period everything else SECOND. We dont engineer 4everything else.
Please go buy a book on lifting weights. Lift with arch of foot.
I often climb sitting. Pedal from on th heel.

My clip ins were the end alls. They used any normal shoe that slid easily in an ultra stiff perfect tight fit or back out just as easy. It was insane how much better they were.

The true question is how does a hard vs soft sole effect effitcientcy together with a solid big heat treated non tapered axle. Axles are too skinny bearings shall be big. Period

I used slicks off road. I averaged 12mph vs 8mph knobs when going over a 3,000ft. 3hour mt.

Knobs suck power. Platform pedals with spikes or anything digs in shoe suck power.

Fat spindle desirable.
Some spindles now are real short or tapered DOWN with sand grit bearings that crush.
Mine are 7mm to 10mm. These are too teeny.
