This is still my favorite skit of all time. Cheri Oteri is hilarious. I say simmer down now at least once a day. 2:07 is legendary.
How did Cheri Oterri never get her own comedy series. She could read the phone book and make it funny.

Cheri Oteri was such a hoot! The cheerleader thing, simmer down now, and a slew of other hilarious characters.
Rita Delvecchio & Nadine were my fave characters. I also like her pill popping character! Now THAT was hilarious

@@johannesbols57 Hm, the only reason I ever heard was that she wanted to star in movies, but if it wasn't in front of my face then I wouldn't know. I never looked into it. I'll have to do a search and hopefully learn a little.
@@johannesbols57a high stress and high pressure environment rather, you are expected to write sketches and perform every week, and as any creative endeavour there is no guarantee that you will succeed. it's not exactly a matter of flipping burgers the right way for x amount of hours will secure your steady job. So I don't really get how you would expect it to be anything else than what it is?

I'm southern ( Texas) and I think this is so funny. Simmer down!! My grandmother used to tell us to simmer down when we got too active as kids.

But, my favorites are Gilda Radner, Cheri Oteri, well all the ones who've been mentioned already. Julia Louise-Dreyfus, Maya Rudolph, Laraine Newman, Naseem Pedrad, Ana Gestyer, Cecily Strong, etc.
Yep, some people just have insane comedic talent. Cheri Oteri is one. "Simma down nah" what she does with her body and voice...Kate McCinnon's "Sheila Savauge" another. Every thing Kristin Wig did of course. They're just great comedic actors. And all of them are low key off camera. They wire into something funny and, in my opinion, profound. Think about it.

What amazes me with this sketch & her other ones on SNL with her is the three looks................ 1 Being her looking at the camera's directly while talking, 2 inside the sketch area/room and 3 being her looking at the other actors. I wish I can be a writer on SNL, I have so many idea's.
