Thx! Actually I don't think the Octamic II is overpriced. It's a rock solid unit with very reliable results. It is "invisible" to the signal chain as it doesn't add any coloration to the sound. It has decent DAC on board but also line outs to drive other equipment. For more color (e.g. Vocals) I have a Neve 1073 clone (Soundskulptor MP573) which adds harmonics via its transformers. There you are in the 500,- per channel area...
Hi! What do you think about the low end? I know it's not the same, but I own an RME Fireface 800 and I think it lacks a good response in the low frequencies to get a good kick / toms sound. What about these preamps? Thanks a lot!
@@guillermomartin5167 As far as I know the mic pres in the RME interfaces are identical to the Octamic pres. I have not heard any lacks in the lows. They are just neutral and don‘t add anything to the signal.
I llke the groove on the Hi Hat. For 8 mic pres do you feel you overpaid for what you got?
