Dry ice blasting can be brutal on pine and other soft woods. It just eats through the soft layers as you can see when they are doing the red file cabinet drawer in this video...
Dry ice blasting is non-abrasive cleaning method. It does not damage the wood. It removes paint and varnish off of it and leaves the surface dry and clean, ready for further treatment.
