    I have breitling superocean heritage 2 and I can say it has the best bracelet ever. Even better than my submariner oyster bracelet. It's such a underrated watch. If you are into mesh bracelet, please give it a try, you won't regret.

      That’s the watch that got me interested in mesh bracelets. I like Breitling in general. I have a chrono Avenger.
      The SOH II chrono was on my list until I saw it at the AD with a scratched bezel on display. I was shocked to be honest. It was the first time for me to see a ceramic bezel with such a visible scratch, on what’s supposed to be a new watch nonetheless.
      Have you had any issues with scratches on the ceramic insert of the bezel?

    Nice review! However, one advantage of the less expensive models in your review is the relative range and ease of size adjustability. Right from the start, the wrap-around type of mesh bracelet will fit a wide range of wrist sizes with near infinite adjustability, and because of the clasp design, the fit can be resized almost on the fly (all that is needed is a paper clip and about 2 seconds) at any time during the day. The clasp on the Milanaise-style bracelet I have is also very secure, and much more discreet than the monster clasp on the STAIB model.

      I saw the Heritage bracelet live in the flesh yesterday, and it's not as hefty as the Staib. The Staib is much more significant in the hand. But the Heritage bracelet is more tightly woven and has a bit of a dressier and flashier (Breitling!) look to it. But yes, Staib is an excellent replacement for MUCH less money and certainly an equal in quality.

Lug to lug is about 47-48mm and my wrist is around 7 inches (give or take a quarter). Great video, thanks. Sizing on these is so tricky. Would you say that the sports clasp model fits you, in that medium size? At the end it looks a bit snugger than I wear, but you have a couple of pin holes left for adjustment.
    My wrist currently measures at 7”, but weather etc can alter fit. As you said the fear is that the size up would be slightly too large.

    • @DavesWatchLove
      @DavesWatchLove  5 років тому

      If you have a 7" wrist, definitely go with the medium. There will be plenty of room left. Remember too that on watches with longer lug to lug, you'll get even more room. I put the 22mm on my SKX recently for the first time, and I had to tighten up the bracelet.

    • @visiblemode
      @visiblemode 5 років тому

      Thanks a lot for the help. You definitely make sense. I want to get one for a watch that’s even larger at 53mm lug to lug, so it just makes sense to go medium, in that case. I do hope there’s going to be clearance from the case, though. It’s a Christopher Ward, also.

      @@DavesWatchLove Hi Dave! Thanks for the video, I've watched this at least a million times trying to decide the size I'm going to order as it will be a gift...
      I'm a bit confused about your comment here, isn't the C60's lug-to-lug bigger than that of an SKX? Still you had to tighten up the bracelet?
      I'm really torn between the 150/170 in 22mm... This will be paired with a vintage 6306 Turtle (~45mm LtL) and the recipient does sport some pretty hefty wrists. I know a watch with a butterfly clasp bracelet with an inner diameter of approx. 205mm in total fits him OK/a bit loose, so that's my reference...
      Any help/guesses are appreciated, thanks!

    • @DavesWatchLove
      @DavesWatchLove  6 років тому

      Definitely the 20mm one in the video description. BUT, you could probably get away with something cheaper than this, as it might be just a bit thick for the Visodate. Look for my video review of the Visodate. And look in the description for the Strapcode bracelet I used. I was very pleased with that $40 solution on the Visodate.

    Would you reccomend the 2784 or 2792 for a Breitling Superocean Heritage 42 ?
    I bought mine on a rubber strap with a deployant clasp and while i like the clasp i regretted not getting the bracelet straight away.
    And apparently Staib maked Breitlings bracelets anyway.

    • @DavesWatchLove
      @DavesWatchLove  Рік тому

      I wear the 2792 with my Omega Seamaster 300. It's the more elegant of the two and would look great on the Breitling. If you want something a little thicker and heavier and more aggressive for your dive watch, a 20mm version of the 2784 would be a possibility. The two bracelets actually feel quite different. The extra millimeter of thickness makes a difference.

    Hi Dave, loved the video! Couple of quick questions for you: out of the two styles, butterfly and sport strap, which one do you find more comfortable on your wrist? Does the weight of the 4.1mm bracelet feel overwhelming or too much? I am planning on putting the 4.1mm one on my green SMP 300 which is my daily driver so to speak. I love the bulkier/meatier look of the 4.1mm bracelet but not at the expense of comfort. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

    • @DavesWatchLove
      @DavesWatchLove  Рік тому

      I have an SMP 300 and wear it often on the thinner butterfly bracelet. It looks nice and well balanced, but also more streamlined. Great for business attire. If you want a beefier look, the 4.1mm would give the watch more heft and presence. Comfort is similar, but the clasp is quite bulky. Not uncomfortable, but the clasp is definitely very thick on the wrist. if you don't mind that, I think you'd like it. Best of luck!

      @ZlatanKakaTorres786 Рік тому

      @@DavesWatchLove thanks for the feedback Dave! Good to know its not uncomfortable per say. The only other issue ive seen people have is that the end of the thicker 4.1mm bracelet rubs against the casing of the SMP 300 which is not good lol. Although, they say that you can use thinner spring bars to take care of that though so hopefully that works for me. Here's hoping. Thanks again Dave!

    Thank you for the in depth review. I have a new Seamaster 300M Black and I wanted to get the highest quality mesh bracelet. Do you know if this is as good as it gets? I'm concerned that the polish wont be deep, rich and luxurious enough to match the casing of the Seamaster. Is this the case or will it work? I frankly wouldn't mind spending more since I'm trying to obtain similar quality to what's offered by the Breitling Supercean mesh. We all know that's as good as it gets but I'm sure that's 1000+ OEM bracelet.

    • @DavesWatchLove
      @DavesWatchLove  5 років тому

      I've tried on the Breitling Superocean mesh, and man, was it shiny and blingy (which I really liked). I can't say the Staib bracelets are as high polished as that, but you definitely feel the quality and the shine on the polished editions are still good. I'd say yes, it's about as good as it gets in third party mesh.

      I think even with a smaller dive watch, a thicker mesh is better. I imagine the lug width has moved from 22mm to 20mm. The 20mm Staib mesh bracelets are less bulky and would look great on a 40mm CW. I wear my 20mm Staib on my 41mm Omega Seamaster Professional and it's a perfect match.

      @@DavesWatchLove Thanks for your response. I just received 150mm bracelet today and it is also tight on my wrist. My reasoning for ordering 150mm vs 170mm was that I would need to remove 3 links from 170mm bracelet and that would make the clasp look too short. I am planning to purchase the same 22mm lugged, 4.9mm thick staib bracelet for a Tudor Smiley 79220R. The BB has some strap and bracelet challenges as the lug holes are situated a bit lower and far from the case. Just wanted to seek your help and advise on the thickness of the 22mm bracelet ends, can you share its measurement please? This may sort out the gap size between the case and bracelet lug ends. However Im a bit worried that it may protrude on the front side of the watch when worn on the wrist.
    I really hope you could help me out. I'm planning to purchase the matte version. I'm just really concerned that it might not work with my BB and the cost would be quite huge to bear for a bracelet fail. Thanks in advance.

      that feedback. I guess if you let it out that final notch it would have been a bit roomier, too, by maybe 2-3mm? Is for a larger watch even, at 53mm, I should probably just relax, but it’s not a cheap band.

    I'm looking to put 20mm on my 42mm speedy professional, I have 7.4 inch wrist, should I get the 150mm or 170mm mesh?

    • @DavesWatchLove
      @DavesWatchLove  6 років тому

      Wow, that's a close one. My Speedy is the 44mm and the 150mm fits well on my 7.25 inch wrist. But with the slightly shorter lug-to-lug on the 42mm, it would be close. Since you're closer to a 7 and a half inch wrist, then the 170 would probably be the best bet. You'd might have to remove most of the extra links. With the 150mm, you can always get extra links for about $17 each. Just know that with Long Island Watch, they won't take it back unless all the original wrapping is on it. So that will all be off before you know if it fits. :-/ It's a shame there's not a little bit of overlap on the two sizes.

    I have a question regarding the butterfly clasp.
    About 3 years ago I bought a mesh bracelet from Watchgecko that looks practically identical to the one attached to your Aqua Terra (it says "Geckota" on the clasp; I don't know who made it). I found the butterfly clasp to be a bit uncomfortable. Either some of the edges are too sharp, but more likely it appears that the clasp curves upward steeper than the relative flat underside of my wrist, digging into the flesh sometimes.
    Have you noticed any slight discomfort from the butterfly clasp in certain situations? Are the two clasps equally comfortable (disregarding the rest of the bracelet)?

      @DavesWatchLove  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment. I have found the butterfly clasp to be quite comfortable. I'd say it's more comfortable than the folding clasp, as the one featured in the video is quite bulky in the 22mm version. The butterfly clasp is well designed. Best of luck!

    The sizing is driving me crazy 🤦‍♂️
    I have your exact wrist size (185mm / 7.25”) and I want this mesh bracelet for a Planet Ocean (52mm lug to lug)
    I’ve done the calculations and measured my existing strap but I’m still very confused about which one to get. Cause these calculations don’t factor-in the thickness of the case…

    Totally agree. I bought a cheap mesh bracelet and I will never use it. It’s quite feminine and sadly I can’t give to my wife as she doesn’t have any 22mm watches.
    First world problem. Ha!

    Ive been very skeptical of mesh bracelets for some odd reason i find them feminine over oyster bracelets.But this video gives me a little nudge to get one

    A couple years late, but here's the native German you needed to tell you how to pronounce Staib.
    It's "shtibe", rhyming with "vibe".
    You're welcome.

    Its. good Mesh but I can't waste 200 for a bracelet on a watch that cost me 200 I can handle a little weaker clasp

    frustrating when reviewers shake their watches as they talk. no one ever uses pointing devices over trying to point at thing when a thumb.

    Yes but the bracelets DON'T have the watch brand stamp on them! Makes the watch look fake

    • @DavesWatchLove
      @DavesWatchLove  5 років тому

      Um, but the addition of the bracelet does not remove the brand from the face of the watch. I never see an aftermarket strap and think "fake watch." I see aftermarket strap and think "aftermarket strap."

      You might think that but others don't. If my seamaster strap didn't have an Omega stamp then I'd know its not a genuine Omega strap or the watch is fake and I know plenty people who think the same

    • @penttijakonen3817
      @penttijakonen3817 5 років тому +1

      @@J.K.Barrik You are making no sense at all. Fake one would obviously have the stamp to look genuine, or else it would be a very bad fake anyway. Using only "original" straps severely limits your options too and makes your watch look like everyone else's. I use Staib only to replace poor quality metal straps or leather bands though, I probably wouldn't replace a nice metal strap.
