    What do you think of milanese straps? What's the best watch for a mesh strap? What do you think of Breitling's use of mesh straps, or the Omega No Time to Die Seamaster 300M on a titanium mesh strap? Let me know what you think in the comments section.

    I have several bracelets, including 3 different mesh bracelets (from Omega, Breitling and a slightly cheaper one). These bracelets are very different both in looks and feel.
    And for sure you get what you pay for. A few dollar bracelets - or a Staib mesh for that matter - do not look or feel like a Breitling mesh which taper, and have mesh extra links.

    It looks great on your Seamaster! I think milanese bracelet looks good with dressier simplier watches with thin lugs. There's something refined about a milanese bracelet that wouldn't go well with watches that have chunky lugs.

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 роки тому +1

      You might be on to something with it being the thinner lugs, its probably to do with how they look next to the releatively thin bar of the mesh bracelet vs a full solid endlink bracelet...something like a supercase Rolex Submariner 116610 would probably look a bit odd on a Milanese while I could see it working on a 5 digit Sub.
      Either way though, I'm loving how it turned out on my Seamster :D

    My favourite kind of bracelet. To me the only cons of the 2-piece-strap variant are lack of security of a closed loop and that the clasps arent as sturdy and premium feeling as most watch guys like their things to be.
    But they have more than enough pros to make up for it few times over.
    Just get one (or five), a quality one, thank me later.
    Ps. Good, invormative and easy to watch vid. Sub well deserved.

    Ive got a giant collection....... vintage, from grandpa in the 50s and 60s, and dad 70s and 80s and 90s.............. ive carried on since then........ Milanese straps are the BOMB on a watch that matches their slim design............. SO SO SO wrong on any watch over 8 or 10mm case thickness, but SO SO SO SO SO SO RIGHT on thicker.................. a dress strap calls for a dress watch, and those arent Omega Seamasters....... a dress watch is thin, simple, three hands or two, and fits under a cuff................

    Very Informative video. Does it scratch inside the Lug Area?

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  2 місяці тому +1

      The tolerances were quite well judged so it doesn’t scrape on the way in, and it’s a snug enough fit that it didn’t wobble too much once fitted - so long story short no scratches on the inside of the lugs :)

    I got a staib mesh for my smp 300 and couldn’t be happier w/the look and quality. I have the model before yours w/the aluminum bezel and wasn’t ever wearing because I didn’t like the original Omega bracelet, so tried the mesh and am glad I did or I would’ve sold the piece, but now have some versatility and a new look w/my collection. If you have a luxury timepiece, I’d recommend paying the extra $ for the quality you get w/staib, your watch will thank you.

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 роки тому +1

      It's amazing how a bracelet can change the way you feel about a watch, the SMP case just looks amazing on mesh. Which clasp type did you get on your Staib? Does the quality carry on through to the clasps too? Really looking forward to trying out a Staib sometime soon too :)

    • @thehairlesspersian3273
      @thehairlesspersian3273 3 роки тому +1

      @@ShahLusso It absolutely does dude, honestly better and more sturdy than some Breitling mesh I’ve tried on, top drawer. I went for the satin finish, not polished, since the original bracelet isn’t fully polished except for the tracks and seems to match better and more scratch resistant on the clasp. I went w/the pusher folding deployment. It’s a thick quality bracelet worth the bucks. I tried Strapsco, both shark and regular along w/others first and kept wanting better quality to do the watch justice and finally found the perfect one w/Staib.

      @@boymcfacto5832 possibly, I think that it would be a good idea. To me the watch always looks more at home on the oem bracket compared to aftermarket and I like to have the additional omega touches. I know on my factory rubber strap the omega buckle is really high quality and adds A LOT to the overall look and luxury feel of the watch. I don’t think it would be the same with a different rubber strap. I definitely do plan on getting at least one Omega NATO strap

    I loved the video. I am getting one for my seamaster but there are too many finishes so I truly don't know which one to pick. What criteria did u used to pick yours? I liked the one u showed in the video

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Glad the video helped. Here were my main criteria for which bracelet i chose:
      1. Clasp: I don't really like pin-buckles so I avoided these, and also I didn't want a big thick clasp like on the regular Seamaster bracelet (since I already have that on the original bracelet, and most aftermarket ones don't have the great push button adjustment on them so no point in having a huge clasp if its just for basic micro-adjust)
      2. Finish - I went for stainless steel finish not hte gold or PVD ones just so it'd match the case, went for polish since on milanese bands its more historically accurate and with the links it's still nice and discrete
      3. Thickness - this was an important one, I didn't want something so thin that it didn't match the thickness of the case, but I didn't want to go with the full on shark mesh because that'd match better on a Ploprof, in the end I went for a middle ground that was about as thick as the standard seamaster bracelet
      Those were the main things I looked for in it, if you like hte one I picked heres a link to it: strapsco.com/product/milanese-mesh-strap/
      Hope all that helps :)

    So far the examples you used had baton or dot markers. Would the mesh bracelet work on a dial with hindu-arabic indices?

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 роки тому

      I don't see why not, in fact it'd look pretty cool I think. In my opinion it's more to do with the case design and style, most dials unless they're hyper modern (i.e Hublot Big Bang Unico, or Zenith Defy Classic Skeleton) will go well with these :)

      There's really so many options on the non-oem side, some of them really affordable, but also it can be a bit of a minefield with a lot falling under the "you get what you pay for" category, but when I came across this and it really was good for what it costs I was really happy to be able to highlight it. Glad you liked the video! :)

      Yeah I can imagine it's a different experience with a tapered milanese -admittedly i've only seen them as untapered in most modern iterations but I've seen a few vintage watches that had a tapered milanese at it can work too i imagine, in the end its down to preference :)

    great video, can I have your advice on the following. tapper, no tapper? polished, brushed? thanks

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks, glad you liked the video! As for your questions:
      Tapered vs non Tapered Bracelets: Personally I don't mind an untapered bracelet, the original bracelet as well as the milanese on my Seamaster are untapered but some people don't like that look, but also when it comes to comfort a tapered bracelet is usually more comfortable because it's lighter than a straight width.
      Polished vs Brushed: In general I always go for as much brushed surface as possible, because it hides scratches better and doesn't call too much attention. In the case of Milanese bracelets the polish isn't as much an issue as they're smaller surfaces that just glint in the light and the surfaces are so small you don't notice scratches on them.
      Hope those help :)

    Don’t you also get a more precise fit with a Milanese compared to most bracelets? Especially ones without micro adjustments?

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 роки тому

      In general yes, but not always - it depends on the type of clasp on the Milanese
      On the one I’m wearing in the video it’s got a slider that latches on to any part of the bracelet so you can literally set it anywhere and get the perfect fit
      But there are also ones with holes & pin buckles that work like any other regular leather strap - so also pretty good (The Omega No Time to Die works like this but with the Omega deploying clasp)
      Then there are also ones with deploying, butterfly or even dive clasps that are more like regular bracelets in terms of adjustment - they have sections of links that you have to remove, sometimes even half sections for precision as well as micro adjustments (Breitling Superocean Heritage) or dive extensions (Omega Ploprof).
      It all depends on which one you opt for so it’s important to look out for that when buying :)
