    Senna was a pure Genius behind a racing wheel and had an unatural gift with a car. But you know to me what makes this guy extra special and stand alone? Was his work ethic. He was so involved in a team in every aspect.
    Thats what separated him. F1 was his life not just a job. To me hes the greatest. Should of never came back but was too hard an opportunity to resist. Get well soon.

    He raced against the old legend like senna, prost, mansell, etc. with his own rival hakkinen, coulthard, hill, villeneuve, etc. with younger generation alonso, button, raikkonen, massa, etc. for him its not enough already so he try again to race against the future star like vettel, hamilton, rosberg, etc. he come when the car is still analog (in his case he have tc) and left when the car is pretty much digital. a Legend. #keepfightingmichael

    Very dad & hard to watch this icon of F1 speaking so candidly of his life in & out of racing. Horribly poignant as this interview must have been filmed not long before his fateful skiing accident. I wish Michael & his family didn't have to go through with what happened - but life can be so damned fickle & monumentally unfair when least expected. My heart goes out to them & anyone else who's had fate deal them a similar blow of this magnitude. God Bless Michael Schumacher - A true Legend of Grand Prix Formula One. Peace !! Rx

    I think that Michael have an ecceptional intelligence, as human been and as driver. In his words there is all tha we need to know about the F1. Saw he during his job is not see the true Michael as for many peoples expecially where theyrs are under a continuos pressure. I love the two persons that living inside he: the one, THE DRI ER, the other almost a child that admit each one of hes shy caracter. Basically he is not stronger and could, but shy in my poor opinion (timido in italian language). And i love went he talk about Corinna, some thing in his eyes start to shining as he know she by one week, not 21 years.. I want say that in his face is possible see all the energy spend for became a legend: the human body is like a battery that more is push and less will be his life. I don't know why but i rid so much tire in his eyes... I hope that Michael would living the rest of the life in the better way possible... All the best my friend.

    IMO and because of unnesarry passing of senna shumacher is the GOAT if senna got the chance to fight shumacher it would of been amazing. They both really broke the rules to win a championship. But what shumacher did with ferrari and making them the best when he joined in 96 they were the Williams of today and hadn't won in 2 decades in debut season he drove that red brick far beyond its potential Spain 96. 97 he was caught out but he was in a inferior car. 98 people will remember mclaren were so far ahead car wise it was stupid. Shumacher wins spa 98 instead of dc taking him out he's world champ. 99 he breaks leg Irvine who's really not in mikas league pushes him all the way shumacher returns and is a second quicker than everyone helps Ferrari win constructors next 5 years are history.

    It just doesn't seem right to have danced with danger so much in his job and suffer such a cruel accident in retirement . I don't think he should have returned to F1 after he retired, it kinda took the shine from is immense success, he retired as a Racing God but took a final lap in what was a young Mercedes Team who inherited a pretty awful, underdeveloped car . I think Schumacher is responsible for much of the speed in the current Silver Arrows, it's just a pity that the 2 little babies driving for them can't seem to resist throwing their dummies at each other, I wonder if Michael was driving one of those Mercedes today he would be challenging for the championship, I think he would wipe the floor with Hamilton and Rosberg .

    • @CraigBickerstaff
      @CraigBickerstaff 10 років тому +5

      I think if he had even been there in 2013 he'd have at least won a race or 2, in 2014 for sure he'd be challenging for the championship once again. The only real shame with him returning was that he wasn't able to do better, he'd probably have won Monaco in 2012 if he didn't get the 10 place grid penalty and then gone on to a retirement but thats the way it is I guess. He showed that I guess drivers don't have to retire long before 40 if they still have the drive to keep going.

      Although the Mercedes car wasn't a top car the fact remains - he was beaten by Nico Rosberg in all three seasons (who up to that point hadn't even won a single race) in points, poles, fastest laps and podiums.
      " I wonder if Michael was driving one of those Mercedes today he would be challenging for the championship, I think he would wipe the floor with Hamilton and Rosberg." Considering that he COULDN'T beat Nico Rosberg in 2010, 2011 and 2012 I don't see how he could beat them now.
      2010-2012 season comparisons:
      Points: Rosberg 324 , Schumacher 197
      Podiums: Rosberg 5 , Schumacher 1
      Wins: Rosberg 1 , Schumacher 0
      Pole positions: Rosberg 1 , Schumacher 0
      Fastest laps: Rosberg 2. Schumacher 1
      Laps led: Rosberg 81 , Schumacher 3 (none in 2010 and 2012 and 3 laps in 1 race in 2011)
      Sorry, but he couldn't match Rosberg in neither points nor pace. Not even in consistency since he raced less laps in all three seasons than Rosberg did.
      You also must remember that when he was at Ferrari he was allowed limitless testing and the virtually limitless resources of Ferrari. Other teams didn't have that benefit. When he rejoined he didn't have limitless testing to give him an unfair car advantage.

      Christine Fury "Although the Mercedes car wasn't a top car the fact remains - he was beaten by Nico Rosberg in all three seasons (who up to that point hadn't even won a single race) in points, poles, fastest laps and podiums."
      You do make some valid points but to base it simply on statistics is wrong ! There were all sorts of other reasons why Michael wasn't as quick as Nico, on his first season back Michael wasn't quite up to full fitness yet . We also need to consider a point that is now proving to be a very valid one with regard to the Pirelli tyre's , it may be exciting to watch them fall off a cliff in performance but it also means drivers need to dedicate too much time in maintaining them . This was something Michael didn't find very natural and since then some drivers have expressed the same opinion .
      Michael was well aware that the Mercedes wasn't a championship winning car and it had all sorts of problems, he worked very hard in trying to solve many of those problems including all night sessions with engineers on some race weekends . Nico himself acknowledged that Micheal's input was huge but Micheal is very loyal to Ross Brawn, he worked very hard to develop that car . When you have won the championship 7 times and dedicated so much effort to past teams, I think it is fair to say your motivation isn't as high as it used to be, if that car was a race winner I am pretty sure the statistics would be different .
      " You also must remember that when he was at Ferrari he was allowed limitless testing and the virtually limitless resources of Ferrari. Other teams didn't have that benefit. "
      Yes they did, in the 2004 season Ferrari had a budget of $336 million followed by Toyota at $321, Mclaren at $313, Renault $300, Williams $276, BAR $244, Jaguar $229,Sauber $142, Jordan $76 and Minardi coming in at $50 . Michael did do a lot of testing but look at state of Ferrari when he joined, it was a mess . His original car was the last of the John Bernard designed Ferrari's and it had a V10 engine configuration for the first time which also led to problems . Eddie Irvine described the car as unusable and brick slow at some races and he was amazed that Micheal was anywhere near the front of the grid .
      "When he rejoined he didn't have limitless testing to give him an unfair car advantage."
      Let's not also forget that the Benetton he drove before his move to Ferrari wasn't as good as the Williams yet he drove the wheels off it and won 2 championships . The Benetton budget for testing and development was lower than the Williams budget at that time, both his championships were won in a inferior car with less testing and running customer engines .On his debut with Jordan he qualified 7th at Spa and he had never driven a F1 car at that circuit before, his natural ability saw him snapped up by Benetton the very next race .

      ***** Christine Fury Pls Dont forget that Schumacher was driving in a complete other class of formula 1. Rosberg was much more confident with the generation of formula 1. But to be honest if you have given him a bit more chance he could have been succesfull. But Mercedes had to lose fame ;) so that had to find fast solutions ;)

    The best thing Michael did was make everyone else raise their game. I hate all this he was a god rubbish, he wasnt a god he just drove a car better than the rest but there's always someone better no matter what sport. It certainly gave him a nice life and it's such a shame he had such a awful accident almost unbelievable how it happened. More important than his car is his wife she seems so loyal which is rare these days. Hope for her sake as well as his he makes a full recovery in time.

    where is the interviewer?

  • @Mr.Monaco94
    @Mr.Monaco94 9 років тому +4

    Wow, what a champ. No mention of the cheating in 94 & 97 when he cracked under pressure and threw the car at both of his contenders. No mention of the sham Monaco 06 qualifying which was & is a disgrace for a multiple world champ to have done. No mention that Schumy is the only champ to have always the support from a team mate (from 94-06) to help him win races or block the adversaries from challenging him. No mention also of the sham that happened in Austria 01 & 02. And most curious of it all, the only time this guy ever had a serious team mate (Rosberg), whom by the way had only 4 years of F1 experience vs 15 of Michael, he was beaten all 3 consecutive years. And pls Schumy fans don't tell me it was because he came back from retirement cause that will never stick, and Lauda is perfect example of that - he beat after the same retirement period none other then Prost in 84.
    Do any of you really see Rosberg being as good as Prost was? He is the biggest F1 hoax ever, and the proof is that not even his records (which would have never existed had Senna lived) places him among drivers, journalists and team bosses view as the greatest driver of all time. Many still consider Senna, Fangio and Clark better then him and I would rate even Prost better then Michael.
    You see Michael never competed with Ayrton and if he did 94&95 would have been Ayrton's titles (he even states that for 94). So without Ayrton he has 7 titles, now how many titles would Prost have if Ayrton never competed against him?? He would have won all of Ayrton's titles and 94 with Williams - do you all remember his contract went right to that year. Now let's do the math of Prost's titles without a phenomenal competitor as Ayrton 85,86,88,89,90,91,93,94 (I am pretty sure Prost would have been able to score 2 more points then Hill for this year) = 8. Michael is at best a 5 times champ, with shit loads of cheating along the way and his wins from 94-2000 would have been halved had Senna lived. This is why he will never be considered by most experts (and the ultimate experts being drivers themselves) as the best ever no matter what all of his fans can argue against.
    Happy watching!

    • @mihailsnesterovics4626
      @mihailsnesterovics4626 9 років тому +1

      Mauricio Garcia I dont really agree on that bit about team mates! Rubens was 5 time (!) karting champion in Brazil, where racing is mega competitive! He then went on to beat all his team mates in Jordan & Stewart, and he only lost to Jenson (Who, mind you, outscored Lewis over 3 years they been team mates together) in his championship season at Brawn! So at no point will I agree that Barrichello was not a serious competitor! Team tactics? The better guy gets the privillege! Do you think Mercedes arent actually playing team tactics this season? Lewis is their number one this year full stop.

    • @Mr.Monaco94

    • @mihailsnesterovics4626
      @mihailsnesterovics4626 9 років тому +1

      Well, shall we say check the number of wins - he is definitely in top 30! But if you wont put Rubens in top 60 of ALL time drivers then neither Rosberg should be... Look, I watch F1 for 20 years now and seen Barrichello on many occasions, I wont argue that he is among F1 greats, but to say he wasnt a serious competitor is definitely not right!

    • @Mr.Monaco94
      @Mr.Monaco94 9 років тому

      Not shall we say......where is the credit poll showing so????? And what it that supposed to mean that you watch F1 for 20 years?? That you are an expert??LOL. Then like I said, it shouldn't be a problem for an expert too back his statement with a credible poll. Good luck with that!

      jesus, u r taking it too seriously now :)) obviously u r some sort of professor so I guess unless I come up with some proper references I dont stand a chance next to you :)) anyway there are no "reliable sources" that show Rosberg is in all time top 60! Or even top 100! now that means MS has never had any serious team mates right? :))
