The Outsiders is basically a combination of characters from different Young Justice, Outsiders & Teen Titans lineups in the comic
So yeah, the Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated crew were recording at the same WB booth that day so the Young Justice crew decided to have some fun.
Wasn’t “Mystery Inc” finished for a few years when they made this season? I thought the reason was because the creators were friends; Greg Weisman had worked on “Spectacular Spider-Man” with some of them. So it was a fun allusion to their show…
@@borjankosarac3645 Greg worked with Victor Cook on Spectacular Spider-Man, and afterwards, Victor moved to Mystery Incorporated as a showrunner. Greg also worked on Beware the Batman, where he wrote an episode. Beware was co-run by Mitch Watson, who was also a showrunner on Mystery Incorporated right before. Though I think Greg is just a fan of MI in general.
Underrated point is how the Team shifts and changes throughout the series. Feels like a regularly developing aspect which I appreciate.

The News Girl Legion is a reference to the News Boy Legion which were golden age comic book characters
Yup! Double reference for the Newsboy Legion and Scooby Doo gang. Antonia (Big Words) being Velma+Anthony (also nick-named Big Words), Tommi being Daphne+Tommy Tompkins, and Gabi being Fred+Gabby. Sheriff Patrick Maguire is also a reference to the Newsboy Scrapper (same real name) + Sheriff Bronson Stone (who is voiced by Patrick Warburton as an adult and Troy Baker as a teenager in Scooby-Doo, so good catch Suraj). Funny that the Normies set up the gender bending at the beginning of the episode

The Scooby doo characters are a reference to Mistry inc, the mayor and the cop are like one to one from the show.
They NEED to watch Mystery Inc. That show is goated, not your typical Scooby Doo show

I love how it's now the superheroes going "a minor setback, but all according to plan" at the end of the episode. Almost feels villainous the way they're playing the Light's game, but I'm here for it!
Originally the Outsiders were Batman’s team when he left the Justice League. The members were Batman, Geo-Force, Black Lightning, Halo, Katana and Metamorpho (the last two were in the episode where they infiltrated Santa Prisca looking for Tara)
The side characters in this episode are a reference to a specific Scooby Doo show called “Mystery Incorporated”. It’s not your typical Scooby Doo show, it has layers of mystery to the overall plot, Illuminati type of stuff. Actual stakes. We would love if you reacted to it someday, hear your guesses on what’s going on

The X Men / Young Justice comparison was actually very on point. Never actually thought about it but it works well here, especially with X Men 97 streaming rn
The girls in the town are a DEEEEEEEEEEEEP cut from the Silver Age Comics referencing the News Boy Legion. This cut is SOOOO deep, Most DC fans don't even know about them.😆
The more recent “My Adventures With Superman” series also has a mixed Newskids Legion version.
The MCU Avengers barely had time as team and where most of the time just directly reacting to active threats. They did get more official with Tony setting up Avengers tower and later the upstate facility, but just in terms of man power and surveillance it was never as organized as the League is shown in this series.
Now in comics it’s similar to how the Justice League is here where there’s different sub teams and an organization keeping track of threats.

Surprised no one mentioned The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. That is as close to seeing the Avengers every day activity as you can get.

23:16 Definitely was not expecting an X-Men Evolution reference from Navi there. I was few years late to the 90s show (I'm an early 99 baby) so by the time I was a cognizant boy I grew up with "X-Men Evolution' and "Wolverine and the X-Men" which was like 2000-2003 and 2009 I believe. So I saw a lot more of that show than the 90s show and recently I rewatched the entirety of X-Men Evolution and wow that show is still so damn good and really deserves more praise for just how good it actually ended up being. Would make a great reaction series since y'all probably haven't seen the good Marvel animated shows like the X-Men shows, Spectacular Spider-Man, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, etc.

Yeah, I think if you're born after 94, you probably connect more with X Men Evolution, Wolverine and the X Men and the FOX movies than the 92 show

Beast Boy has had some of the best development on this show. I love it.
Another dynamically cool episode with Garfield and Friends.
I highly recommend checking out Scooby-Doo meets Batman and Robin, television at it's finest.

In the comics there was a team called The Outsiders and there was also the Newsboy Legion.
Watch “Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes” might be my favorite marvel cartoon series of all time. Really punches the idea of a shared universe.
The kids are part reference to Scooby Doo part reference to The Newsboy Legion 40’s characters that were sidekicks to Guardian and relevant to Young Justice they were reintroduced by Jack Kirby in Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen 133 a story arc that provided the basis for the shows pilot and features the first appearance of Darkseid beginning Jack Kirby’s Fourth World Saga.

There's a scene in one of the Scooby Doo movies - the crossover with WWE I think - where they cut to some of the Young Justice characters watching on television. I think only Grey Griffin reprises her voice as the Daphne expy for this

The Scooby Doo kids are a nod to a Scooby movie where they showed the Young Justice girls in a cameo. The mayor (Fred’s dad) and sheriff are characters from the show Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc. another serious minded classic show reinvention from the 2010’s much like YJ.
Patrick Warburton plays the Sheriff in Mystery Inc but due to budget they were stuck with the talent pool they had. Daphne actually retains the same voice between both shows which is cool.
The Newsgirl Legion are a gender bent version of the Newsboy Legion, Superman supporting characters created by Jack Kirby when he left Marvel to work at DC. He created Guardian, Dubbilex, Darkseid, Granny, Godfrey, The Forever People and the other New Gods as well as lots of other iconic characters who have since shown up in this show.
If you guys are interested in a good Marvel cartoon to watch Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is an amazing watch. Navi mentions an episode of X-Men Evolution which is also fantastic.

Lol the team is running this. no u don't know batman. That's why wonder woman was on his ass. Batman is backing off justice league stuff starting batman inc. which is a thing. And working with the league and off shoots. Batman has been in charge of the league and he stepped out to fight the light. That whole ending was the adults using the kids not stepping aside
