Westminster murder / Deptford murder & Hackney update (London street news)

- Detectives are appealing for witnesses, footage and information as they continue to investigate a murder in Deptford.
Police were called at approximately 22:35hrs on Thursday, 6 June to reports of a stabbing in Carteret Way, SE8. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended but despite their best efforts the victim sadly died at the scene.
His family has been informed and the man has been identified as 21-year-old Robert Robinson who lived locally.
The Met’s investigation is led by Detective Inspector Neil Tovey. He said: “This is a horrific crime committed by persons who chose to arm themselves with weapons and blight our communities. A young man has died in brutal circumstances and his family are grieving.
“We need to piece together the events which led to the attack on Robert. The incident took place on a residential street, Carteret Way, at a time when many people are likely to have been at home.

That building opposite Edgware road station that is under development used to be Paddington Green police station, the most secure police station in London, its where they would take terror suspects and the IRA. Now it is being converted into luxury flats. This is the sate of London. Back in the day nobody was getting stabbed or bothered on that stretch of road. That building had more cameras sticking out of it than the Pentagon, and you had police walking about constantly. Populations grow, so it never made sense to me why anyone would think we needed less police stations and officers? some things have to be protected from government cuts and police are one of them. As populations grow we need more and more not less and less. Technology is no substitute to boots on the ground visible police force.

I cannot believe that you need six people, shoulder to shoulder on all fours to inspect the ground like that. Surely two people could be equally as effective. You might say that they need this or that to secure a conviction, but with all the surveillance and digital forensics what could they possibly be looking for? Thousands of people will have walked down that street so it can't possibly be any type of DNA evidence - at least not at a small enough scale that requires that pullava!
Wherever that is and the similar pictures at the beginning (I don't know if it's the same scene), the people need to get on to their local Crime Commissioner and either call them out or vote them out. What a waste of rescources.
Unfortunately they don't need that kind of scrutiny to convict people for "wrong think".
