What doctor is saying is correct but it is not easy for someone outside the doctor country to start as explained. I.e here in Nigeria there is no place you can get all those 50,75% except 100% from south Africa or other countries and these one are to exorbitant in price for starter. Imaging spending 2000 USD to bring a single goat it can't be easy for starter

Indeed I didn't know a 50 percent female goat needs a year to be bred for the first time. So you rather start with a few goats but of better breeds to save time and earn faster than starting with too many local goats.

    Hello sir nameste
I am Mr chudamani from nepal
I decided to do goat farming from our tipical local goat of nepal's terai reason they are small in size (15 kg to 20 kg) but ther features ar can give multi kids and twice a year . And can be pregnant with in 10 to 12 month from their birth time. And they are easy to sell for meat propose due to their small size(male size is 20kg to 30 kg with in a year)
Am I right or not will i be successful farmer or not.
( I have 1.5 aker land and 2 aker at lease with firtile land and available irrigation for 365 days)
I am just doing pandey , wheat and mustard crops from long time as my family business.
Thank you I will be wating for yor kind information. Bye

Priceless information Sebo, one question though, would it be a problem if l cross savanna kids with a boer buck just to increase size? FYI we aim at meet production not breeding.

Thank you very much for this knowledge, i thought buying younger local goats was the best not knowing the effect of the time it will take to be bred for the first time. And also if i cant afford to buy a pure buck to cross with the locals, can i also start with F2 bucks to try and improve the breed a little bit.?
