You didn't go to the moon, son. Don't get carried away. You was drunk, on PCP and Cartel Meth and you jumped out in traffic that night and got hit by a pickup truck and you lay there on your back looking up at the moon. C'mon now. You know what happened.🥖
My brother, I am from the East and I have 25 years of experience in wheels that generate electricity from water. I want to tell you that there is a modification we have made to the design of the wheel that gives a power 2 times greater than expected. You will not believe what you will see and it costs less. Nice effort.
There is "Something" very special about water wheels. Rather like watching the flames of a fireplace ... hypnotizing. It seems to me that this is an "old time" resource that can be brought up to todays standards of power generation. FANTASTIC video folks. Well done by ALL involved. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
You lucky, lucky, lucky bastard! Pretty wife, lovely kids, great friends and a fantastic property with an amazing spring for free electricity! What more could any man ask for? I’m truly envious. I just love watching your adventure unfold. Hi from Australia.
Wow! A water wheel for the hydroelectric power made from an old wagon wheel? Awesome! I just might get the same thing for my hydroelectric power for my off-grid house one day.
The amount of energy you could make with this when the trowel is running fully using a very high ratio gearbox. You can make tons of power with the right electronics and mechanics. All the hard work has been done by this genius of a man Jerry.
Such beautiful craftsmanship I could look at this for hours. As an ex welder albeit on motor vehicles this makes me happy. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
we all need a Jerry in our lives lol wish he was here so we can build a cabin lol awesome wheel so excited to see it all come together going to be so nice :)
Congratulations! My grandfather build a wood water wheel in 1950 for a mill here in Chapecó city, Brazil. 4m x 0,8m all wood. In 1990 i was a child and remember the water wheel in front of the site. Unfortunately my family don´t took care and rotted. Today we have photos only.
That is so Cool! Awesome Knowledge and ability to put it into practice! That Waterwheel will be a beautiful thing to watch - Sittin and Sippin by the pond! ;) The sound of that Waterwheel turning - reminds me of the sound of a steam train! It is a beautiful thing!
Wow! Cool! I just found this channel 4 yrs later. It juuust has the "puh dunk, puk dunk" sound. Did you know that's where "podunk towns" in rural America got their moniker? The water wheels often found in small towns/villages made a po dunk sound. Very cool. I am so jealous. I would love to have a water wheel. You could drive so many things with it. Saw mill, grain mill, water pump, and the list goes on.
That looks fabulous, intriguing, and very beautiful. Jerry did a marvelous job with his ingenuity and talents. Looking forward to the finished wheel and water flow with the generator. Very exciting to watch and thanks for sharing.
Not sure how I ended up here, but it is so fascinating I had to subscribe. Living in Germany, surrounded by ancient water Mills, I would tend to call the pool behind the dam, "The Mill Pond". Going to really enjoy this.
A trick to remember is that the rubber of the belt will gradually dry out with the sun and heat. Mitigate this by coating it with some vaseline. Just get a chip brush and coat it. It works well with anything rubber, car door gaskets, fridge gaskets, etc. . Vaseline was born from the creation of gasoline as a byproduct of the process. It keeps the rubber suple and oiled up...
Thank you for sharing that helpful trick! Coating the rubber with vaseline sounds like a great way to extend its lifespan. By the way, if you're looking for a reliable power backup solution for your outdoor adventures, I highly recommend checking out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. It offers massive capacity, fast recharging, and even waterproof technology. Definitely a game-changer for camping and RV enthusiasts!
This is the most amazing piece of work I have seen in a very long time. How in the world did they do it in the old days without cement, tracktors and all the modern equipment you used today, is just mind boggling.. Well done.....
Wow this is pretty much what I was hoping to make in the future! So amazed to see this project! can't wait to see how much electricity it will produce.
Been a couple of weeks since I saw this video for the first time, but I´m intriqued to know all about the watts and efficiency of that water-wheel so I caught myself checking if a new video is up manually everyday now 😄..still waiting! And that is the formula how you create good content on YT. Big thumbs up from Sweden!
..aweSOME as always jerry... you give him a challenge.. he's definitely impressive at presenting an amazing and functional solution.. Brava..once again sir... The water wheel will most definitely (hopefully provide the power y'all need) but will be such a quaint and unique ambience to the Loftis family off-grid oasis... thank you as always for sharing ☮️ &🌱's
Hi Channel Loftis. I really liked your water wheel and power generation projects. Very cool. I live in São Paulo in Brazil and here we have incredible hydraulic potential because we have several rivers. Although most of the power generation here in Brazil is from hydroelectric plants (approximately 85%). I also have a channel that I have several small-scale projects. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences. I'm sorry for my very bad English 😩😩. Hugs and much success in the projects.
So just came across your channel and watched last 3 videos. And subscribed ! Awesome channel and such an amazing project !! Hope you're enjoying life and by the looks of the cabin and this dam project you certainly are !!!
Fantastic! I would put some mortar under the metal pieces that hold the water wheel bearings. Paint the metal quick! In future crab grass over back of dam to hold dirt. Put a little house over the generator!
Introducing "The Jerry wheel" ! Awesome craftsmanship Jerry. What a blessing to have him as your carpenter.
Agreed
Take your like and get out
Jerry is a true American Craftsman. We got to the moon with men like him.

Really cool project thanks for bringing us along.
You might look into a Tesla home battery or something similar and have your wheel charging .
You might consider one gusset on the back side of your dam.
I'd also consider car hub bearings for your water wheel hub.
I am absolutely loving these off grid cabin videos!

Thats awesome craftsmanship, and an ingenious idea
Truly a thing of beauty. Well done.
You should do a long recording of the water going in to the wheel. The "Fwap, Fwap, Fwap." So soothing and would be a great sleeping white noise.
