What a great subject! You’ve probably made a lot of people feel a lot better about themselves! Easy plants, HAH! Those phaelenopsis (sp?) orchids from big box stores. Get real. Tried, tried so hard to save the bugger! Urgghh! Zebrina! Garbage! However, have great luck with Tradescantia spathacea (oyster plant) and tradescantia pallida purpurea (the purple one - moved with me across country and did well) My huge monstera adesonii tanked. Cut some wet sticks and FOUR months later getting some roots in my sphag prop box and have 3 small pots of it to try to regrow. Used to be succulent person until echevarias turned me off (too much carnage), still have some crassulas and haworthias left. Don’t get me started on Rex begonias, but they are beautiful! I do have good luck with cane begonias....Aglaonemas and Kalanchoes hate me. 😘 Put holiday cactus in cooler, darker space for month of October in northern hemisphere and mine bloom in December.

Peperomia especially the leafy ones. You have to hit the water sweet spot just right and they do not forgive mistakes.

Adensonii does the same for me. Beautiful for a while, then yellowing leaves and they come out weird and small and curly, but nothing really changed in my care or conditions as far as I can tell. I have cut the plant down completely when it does that, and it regrows beautifully and is lovely again for a while, then the same 🙈 I might just keep doing that for as long as it seems to be working 😁🤷‍♂️💚

Rex Begonia - mine looked horrid until I gave up & put it outside in a hanging basket in full sun & watered it thru every 3 - 4 days. I brought it in 4 winter & put it in my biggest east window & I water it thru every 2 weeks. It lives but hates me in the winter!
Tradescantia - I keep killing the Albovittata & the Zabrina. I currently have 1 tiny piece of the Zabrina, a Red Hill, a Purple Heart & a Lavender, which all SEEM 2 b doing ok but...
Addonsonii - doing better since I put it in a cooler area with bright East morning sun. I also made a DIY self watering pot 4 it.
Succulents - some do well when I bring them in & some bite it! The thing is; they r all in the same planter outside & in. The only change is from outside in full sun watered once a week 2 inside in my biggest west windows, direct sun, watered once or twice a month. I don't get it!
Syngonium - I adore my syngoniums! But they hate me! They do OK 4 about 3-6 months & then, no matter what fertilizer I use, what light I have them in, how often I water them, they start 2 wilt & die. No, I haven't found any signs of pests & if I even suspect I might have them, I get my pesticide spray & treat them every 10 days for a month. Idk, they hate me!
Pepperomia & Pilea - hate me!
Umbrella trees & China Doll trees - like me until they don't like me any more. Like u & Addonsonii.
Alocasia Ninja - The 1 plant species I keep hearing is so hard 2 maintain ( & I'm tempting Fate 2 come & get me here) I've been doing well with so far! Granted, I only have the 1 plant but still, I've had it now for about 4-5 months & it seems 2 like me ok. I started with 2 living & 1 wilting leaves & now I have 4 living beautiful leaves (I didn't loose the wilting leaf, it's still hanging in there & looking good)!
Pothos & Philodendron - I've found do better growing in my East windows about 6 feet back in a self watering pots.
Ficus Elastica (Tineke, Robusta & Burgandy) kept dying til I put them in self watering pots.
My Banana tree - loves me in the summer & has given me 2 pups (1 3 yrs ago & 1 last summer) but she hates me in the winter & has not produced flower or fruit 4 me ever!
Rhaphidophora Testrasperma - lasted 3 weeks & became sticks that I tried for 8 months 2 propagate but they finally shrivelled up & died.
Rhaphidophora Hayii - I've had for almost a year now & it's alive but even tho its climbing on a DIY flat pole, it's leaves r getting smaller & smaller.
I'm about 2 DIY self watering pots 4 all of my plants regardless.
    HELP❣ ME❣PLEASE❣

I have my Grandma's Christmas cactus, it's over 60 years old! I get it to bloom by keeping it outside all summer and then taking in inside October 31st! Lol.... It gets cold out at that time....I then bring it in...water and fertilize and it blooms every year! :)

Aloe Vera! I kid you not. I killed my husband’s 25 year old aloe Vera and her 6 babies in less than 6 months. I have no problems with Calathea, I can grow them from tiny specimens to enormous plants no problem but I have killed countless aloe Vera. People give me advice all the time but I have knowledge of botany from my profession. Monstera adansonii, I have found grows huge and then for some reason starts to have problems. I just take cuttings and start again.💚🌿

I had a beautiful collection of begonia's. Tuberous, Fibrous, Hardy, and Rhizomatous all of them. This winter I put most of them in a indoor greenhouse. They thrived till December. Now, only the ones that weren't in the greenhouse are alive. It wasn't a pest problem or mold or fungus. Two by two they throw up the middle finger.
I had some of them for 3 years!

You need to watch the orchid whisperer. Her orchids are beautiful. Not to mention her thanksgiving cactus. She calls the one “big red”, so you can only imagine. And as I was just ready to repot my tradescantia, which is flowering, i I had turned on your channel. Good luck,

Phal orchids only bloom once a year & usually in the winter so don't worry if it doesn't bloom all the time. Thxgvg & Christmas cactus are "schlumbergera" & the Easter cactus is "rhipsalidopsis". They do not like to be moved. If you tend to shuffle them around, they will blast their buds & flowers. I have a few of all three. My oldest is over 40 years old & I chopped it 3 years ago because it got too big & woody.
I've been with you when you did succulents. I also struggle with some & others are really easy. Go figure.🙂

My Tradescantia thrive outside in the summer and get somewhat straggly during the winter. Fingers crossed they will pick up when they go out again towards the end of spring otherwise they will be off my list. I too have issues with Rex begonias. Love the look. Hate the drama. Have killed many. Have one I thought was dead that I threw outside last summer and she came back! Cane begonias have fared better in my care.

In my personal experience, most of the issues you're having can be solved with tons of light and bottom watering. Tradescantia likes to dry out but only once it's acclimated. It wants ALL the light, zebrina especially wants to be right in the window. They also do fantastic with bright led lights in warmer white. It's extremely sensitive to pests, especially the nanouk. Same for adansonii, super sensitive to pests and to pesticide (because of course it is 😂) but it enjoys being cut back, and settles down over time so don't despair. Round form really really really loves leca (so does tradescantia). In soil I use at least 50% perlite for adansonii, they really want to breathe. As for begonia, I've got a tigers paw that is holding on but my begonia graveyard's a fairly long list, so... Mine do great outdoors, but eventually the indoor drama does one of us in. 😂

**Note I live in FL ALL of my plants are indoors**
    1. Adonsonii- I have killed one (in my home), I am propagating a piece🙏. I purchased another and potted it with a Marble queen pothos, they are doing well together (at my job). I took a cutting of that one home. It lives in Sphagnum, it struggles but it just put off 2 new leaves so...I'm rooting for it!
    2. Orchids -NOPE flowers are beautiful, but I like foliage.
    3. Christmas cactus- killed one, have 2 that are thriving no blooms.
    4.Succulents- I struggle, but I have 4 thriving in a 1/2 bathroom with a West facing frosted tiny window🤷‍♀️.
    5. Tradescantia- I💜💕💚🌿I do jot have any massive baskets, but they are all over my home, I get fallen cuttings from Big Box stores...lol. I just purchased the green striped one you showed🤞it's so pretty, it has some brown edges, but I think it a lighting issue.
    6. Begonia- Pretty, just not my thing.
    7. Pothos?!- They are my easiest have a huge neon, a beautiful Marble and a gorgeous albeit slow growing Manjula. I do struggle at home with the Pearls and Jade (my one at work is beautiful).
🌿So Nicky...although I own several, I struggle with snake plants (aka- dracaena), dracaena, Zz💚/Zz Raven 🖤plants and the Cast iron plant (aka- aspidistra)!!! My Zz's are doing well now (I think) they would continually get root rot but are now putting off new shoots🤗. I murdered the cast iron plant of steel...just purchased 2 and potted them together...fingers crossed. Guess I'm stubborn like you😉!! My last plant that I just can't right but am trying again?? The money tree- Pachira aquatica I received one for my birthday 🤞🙏💚🌿.

Great video! Just want to add that I’m in Vancouver, BC (usually rainy, cool) and I have great luck with orchids and holiday cacti because I have an enclosed deck that is West facing. The room usually gets down to about 45-50’ F in winter and up to 90’ F in summer. It has no artificial lighting at all. I water when I remember to go out there and I rarely repot or fertilize. They just keep on blooming over and over again. I bring the orchids indoors when the blooms are solidly developed and they last for months. 2021 was an anomaly because we had temps over 110’ F and the blooms all dropped at once, but I have new flower spikes on most of them now. (But I can’t grow an adensonii or pothos so I’ve given up the fight with them.).

I have the spot Where Plants Go To Die. It's right outside my back door. I'm no expert, but my Thanksgiving cacti are in flower now, in February. I read somewhere that they like a cool period to stimulate flowering. I guess my cold plant room stimmy-ed them. I keep very few succs in Winter. They're strictly annuals to me. I'm mainly a cactus grower and I don't water from September until February. In fact, today is the first watering day of the year. I'm with you on the tradescantia. They're as good as dead in my care. In addition to them, I kill the following "easy" plants: ZZ plants, pothos, ivy, and syngonium. I think we're soul sisters.

Agree, Agree, Agree - some Pothos are not very user friendly (N'joy I am talking about you) I have begonia's in a humid grow tent that they love but if they dry out they also love to commit suicide. Have I mentioned that I have about a dozen hoya's and I have never had one that bloomed I just have to resign myself to loving the leaves. My worst plant is Scindapsus Pictus the only one I can grow is the Exotica, the little ones (I have about 4 different kinds) all decline and die - I'm done with them)

I echo you scentements regarding the Adensonii...same with Orchids and 'holiday' cactus. I've had success with reblooming holiday cactus as long as I leave them outside all summer & wait until early Fall to bring them in...but they bloom at Halloween...not Thanksgiving or Christmas. Orchids, I also cannot explain. I have 1 that is 2+ yrs old...it will give me one new leaf every year but no flower spikes. :-( Begonias are equally perplexing...even tried self watering pots and they still croaked...I'm working on reviving one of my angel wings...for the last time. Yes to the pothos!!!! Wtf?! Marble queens I kill all day every day. I have a bajillion plants and I can’t grow them successfully! I can propagate the krap out of them but then can’t keep those little plants alive. However! It’s been my goal lately to figure them out. So far so good. I find they need to completely wilt some. Then they come back with a vengeance. Don’t ever water them if the leaves look good but the soil is bone dry! That was my issue. Grrrrr! 🤣

I got a bunch of succulents and they are slowly getting smaller (losing leaves) 😬 In my case, I have good light I think (Im in Florida) but I think it may actually be too much. They keep drying out (maybe I need to water them more thoroughly) I’ll try that but I’m almost resigned to the idea that I’ll lose them if that doesn’t work 🙈 Aloe Vera is another plant people say is for “beginners” but I can never get to thrive

I have three “holiday cactus”,white, pink and red. I’ve had them for 4 years They bloom very fully between November and January as well as a smaller bloom show at least once or twice a year. They are in a brightly lit room most of the year. It’s the room where I have my alocasias and other high humidity plants. Humidifier and bright indirect light but they’re on a bottom shelf most of the time. They spend the Summer outside in a shaded area. Basically I ignore them unless they’re blooming. LOL
They dry out a lot because I forget them most of the time. Sometimes they get VERY dry. 😬 Use a balanced fertilizer every few weeks during Spring and Summer, when everyone else gets fertilized. They really need to be repotted because they’re still in the grower pot, inside a cache pot. They’re really some of my easiest plants, and I currently have about 200 overall plants. They really seem to thrive on neglect and love being outside in the Summer heat. I don’t lock them in closets or dark rooms and they just kind of hang out. 🍀

I HATE SUCCULENTS, Yes. I Agree on on Cacti. I have many Wandering Dudes I still struggle due many single vines that get pinched off due to the stems weight. Try putting decorative moss under vines to help it not being pinched off by their weight. I Love Begoniason " Clearance" for sure, water dont make it happy when used to all the other plants. Can't keep those Bitches happy. And finally.......I Knew you were going to say Pothos...... hahahahaha.

I’m wondering if the adansonii problem child is just fussy with ph? 🤔

My Thanksgiving cactus will rebloom so randomly and way less blooms. It has three blooms right now.

Succulents NEVER live for me. I also can’t keep ferns and ivy alive. Lately I seem cursed with philodendrons. I had a run where all my Spider Plants kept dying too. 😭

Ugh, the adansonii! I have both wide and narrow form and it's always the narrow one that acts up. It's on death's door right now. Damn thing 😅 I've had it hanging and climbing and it doesnt matter, I feel like it has lost the will to live.

For me it’s snake plants. I can NOT nail down what kind of water they need. I’ve overwatered, underwatered, too much light, too little light…I QUIT

Yup I agree w all of these! Succulents particularly are not easy - I killed quite a few early on in my plant days. I have their care down perfect now but oh boy, it was a journey.

I can’t keep adonsonii alive in terra-cotta. I’m doing better with rooted cuttings planted in plastic pot with other plants tucked under other plants.

Hahaha you’re so fricken cute and your laugh is contagious. I have to agree with with a majority of your list. My adansoniis have been up and down and I finally had to get a big grown one which seems to be surviving much better but then again, I found my first mealy bugs on it and I almost cried. Did the alcohol trick and so far it’s been fine…but it’s been in isolation for about a week now. Im still scared to bring it back into my office where all my plants are. Lol.
Begonias. Yeah no! Not tempted to try again. I had such a bad experience. My pothos pearls and jade…well, I love my other Pothos so thought, this will be easy! False! I’m struggling with it. Even repotted it thinking it was overwatered. Split it in half thinking that’ll help. One died instantly…threw that MF outside (yes I throw my struggling plants in the backyard thinking that’ll help. Hahahha) and the other one is well…on its way to getting the boot too. 😩
Thanks for making me smile and feel better about knowing I’m not the only one with the struggles with “easy” plants. Have an amazing day!!!

We have a Christmas cactus. It blooms every single year and the blooms last a long time. Have had it for 15 years. We don't do anything special, we keep it by the window and water it when its dry. 🤷‍♀️
