      Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

    Reminds me of a manga called Metro Labyrinth (Meikyuu Metro) where the world is engulfed in mycelium, and monsters exist with fungal cores, and humans lost technology and became a fantasy medieval tier of technology where mycelium is a part of everything, including equipment and spells and such, and its a part of their body.
    So you grow a sword out of your flesh and it becomes an extension with properties of metal, but looks like mycelium. You heal by creating mycelium orbs of which you eat to boost regeneration, etc.
    Humans hunt monsters and eats their core, gaining power.

    am I misunderstanding? Coffee grounds are very good for soil. They add nitrogen to them, which makes it easier for plants to grow bigger. In fact, you should use your own coffee grounds at home in your garden if you have one. Same with eggshells and milk that's expired.

    • @sarahburkinshaw8307
      @sarahburkinshaw8307 Рік тому +11

      There's mixed evidence on that. Too much nitrogen can actually damage plants - an overload can inhibit plant growth. And also unlike what the guy in the video said, coffee grounds aren't actually that acidic. The problem is the leftover caffeine in them is actually bad for plant growth. Plants with caffeine evolved that way to inhibit other plants from growing nearby.

      @@sarahburkinshaw8307 Ok, that's fair enough. Too much of anything really, just like people. My soil I grow a lot most of the year, so that nitrogen gets used up, so much so that I even plant a lot of beans and cycle them each year because legumes add nitrogen to the soil as well.

    I'm always skeptical of these green companies, but if they _really can_ provide an alternative for considerably less money, *that* is what will trigger widespread adoption. The real world works on what is easiest and cheapest. Not on what is morally best.
    If you manage to get both at the same time however, _that_ is what makes progress.

More people recognize the improved taste and how they feel, and this growth in demand has led to growth in supply for what previously was very niche and considered something like 'silly' because it was associated with progressive leftists (i.e. hippies and such).

      If we're on the topic of fictional stories involving sentient fungi there's a BL sci-fi book called Little Mushroom: Judgement Day written by a Chinese author about an Earth whose magnetic poles vanished and everything ended up mutating. Fast-forward 100 years, Earth has become hostile and humanity is on its last legs. The story follows a little mushroom who consumed the body of a human and gained the ability to mutate into one and ventures into a human establishment trying to find his spore. Way smarter than me on several topics but an amusing read nonetheless given the title.

    I had a boss who was all about profits, about about a year working for him I crunched some numbers and realized our customers have a high chance of getting damaged product from our current shipping process, but he kept the packaging, he refused to change because redesigning packaging would be expensive. Until I gave him the numbers he would lose if he didn't change, customer acquisition, damaged returns and retaining customers. He changed the next day.

    ill-fitted, unsecured casket top.... I mean, that's just not going to appeal to a whole lot of people, on multiple levels.
    The Simple vanity for the most part, or, the chance of falling out in the process of the funeral in an unfortunate misstep of a Pallbearer? Let's be honest was my first thought.

    The coffin idea is the best one. The old way of doing burials is soooo bad for the planet. We pump the dead body with Tons of chemicals to STOP it from decomposing , then we put clothes and jewelry and other stuff that takes forever to break down inside of a wooden box that is covered in chemicals to Stop it from decomposing , and we do that millions of times, and it’s soooo bad for the planet …. Plus , who wouldn’t want their body to break down and feed new plants and animals !?!? That’s the circle of life! I would LOVE my body to nourish other creatures and beings once I’m done with it.

    I have been an Environmentalist for at least 50 yrs. I've done speeches on the necessity of the rainforest, my children learned young the importance of recycling, I live my life by Reduce Reuse Recycle..... The huge problem is the same now as it was 50 yrs ago, humans apathy and complacency; humans believe they are separate from their environment and people don't believe in the importance of taking care of their home. Even when we finally destroy ourselves, humans won't acknowledge responsibility; they'll just blame our destruction on their God.
