Love the fact that these Legends of the Scottish music scene are still going strong. Yes I miss Gerard Love but Euro Childs is good for the band. I've seen them live in Glasgow so many times since 1990. Ageing well like a good whisky, c'mon The Fannies!
holy shit, never expected to see this. Back in 1998/99 my media teacher in HS gave me several CDs from Indie bands and one of them was Bandwagonesque. I still own that CD and have loved it ever since.
Ya know, Norm is so shy and self effacing and I dunno if he even realizes that his writting and Teenage Fanclub is better NOW than they've ever been. Very intelligently written music that is consistently pulling the boundries of the pop-ish songwriting genre.
He’s just filling in for Dave McGowan who moved over from keyboards after Gerard Love’s departure, but is absent here because he’s also Belle and Sebastian’s bassist and was on tour with them. Dave also plays guitar for Gerard’s current backing band The Magic Influence.
All this time still getting asked about Bandwagonesque and Nirvana. Sheesh. Thye hav ecreated a large ouvre of work that so many wonderful songs on them.
25:30 “Craig” is presumably Craig Overbay, Nirvana’s front of house engineer at the time who’s now with Weezer. I’m guessing he’s standing second from left in the photo but not quite sure because he’s bald now.
Stephen Black who also goes by the stage name Sweet Baboo. I didn't know he was playing with them. He's making the rounds. He was playing with Gruff Rhys
@@sonofjaguare pretty sure Dave McGowan is on tour with Belle & Sebastian at the moment, so I assume they needed a fill-in. I'm fine with McGowan & Euros in the band, but it just isn't Teenage Fanclub without Gerard Love. Just a big gaping hole is all I see here.
Teenage Fanclub - Full Performance (Live on KEXP) 1536pm 7.8.24 wow...... get a life people.... i aint following your train of thought. worth listening to. if only for the beers the tears and............................ the jeers can be put into play.
Wouldn’t that be when they hit 20 years old? Are you also going to ask Sonic Youth and the Rolling Stones to change their names to Sonic Middle-Age and the Rolling Wrinklies?
Cara, Teenage Funclub é espetacular. Um obrigado para KEXP por mostrar isso para nós e um "salve" do Brasil.
Absolutely Amazing. Thanks from Spain. There is still hope for music
Yay, sounding great! So good to see them! Their albums are on regular rotation here at my house. ❤
The Scottish Big Star !!!!!

They never change... Love teenage fanclub
Thanks for having Teenage Fanclub on your show. Been listening to them for the last 30 plus years. Awesome ! 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍
Scottish not British shuv that union flag

Awesome. I had no idea Euros Childs had joined them, love Gorkys too!
My god, when did we all get so old?? 😅
I saw these guys in Brisbane, Australia this year and it was such a wonderful show, they always deliver.
One of the all time greats
It's unspeakable how I love this band
Lovely lads, lovely songs, and dear god do I want Raymond's Music Man Sabre 1...
Legendary is the appropriate word for sure! Rgds from Brazil!
One of the best indie bands with a power pop twist. However, I really miss Gerald Love
Currently the best Scottish/Welsh band in the world
Two other Scottish band that are up there are Belle & Sebastian and the Jesus and Mary Chain
The greatest of all the great Scottish bands!
The Ramones loved the Wombles! "Exercise Is Good For You " -Dee Dee mentions how he & Joey loved it in some later interview. 😊
Neon Generation of Generations in blissfulness!
Really nice groove. Reminds me of The Beatles in their nice and gentle mood you can sway to.
Super cool photo.
Great... really like these guys!
Great performance from a great band
The one time I saw them live it was 1991 Uncle Tupelo opened
SAME!
Me as well!
I recall seeing that marquee pictured on Still Feel Gone
That would have been amazing!
Really leaning into their Dead-esque latter years groove and I’m loving it! Also, I never realized how much 90s era Phish owes to this sound
If you dig Phish, check out The Lizards from Toronto. They are like JRAD or Hyryder playing Grateful Dead.
That SOUND 🔥🔥🔥🙌
The new bass player Stephen sounds fantastic in this!

Teenage Fanclub Forever. Awesome ❤
Too soft rock nowadays. Gerry Love rocked and burned down the house on days of yesterdays. But they were one of the best gigs i've seen
Oh another Gerry's Widow...It happens every time
yeeeeeees
Wonderful band
All this time still getting asked about Bandwagonesque and Nirvana. Sheesh. Thye hav ecreated a large ouvre of work that so many wonderful songs on them.
Beautiful forever!
Still sound great - I do miss Mr Love x
ジャパンツアーが懐かしい! また、来てくれないかなぁ。

🖤🎵
The drummer bears an incredible likeness to Richard in Belle & Sebastian
Nice guys. No ego about them either.
Fun fact: The Ramones were big fans of The Wombles - particularly 'Exercise is Good for You'
Top tune!
🤩
Wait! Tim Walz plays guitar and sings? Best dad in the whole neighborhood!
is that Eros from Gorkys? also who is the new bass player?

Gerard Love 😢

Is that Cate Le Bon’s writing partner on bass?
Former Attorney General Bill Barr on the hollow-body
😂
I threw Pickled Onion Monster Munch at Steven Pastel once
It is not TFC without Gerry Love. Different band altogether. You can’t remove a massively fundamental part and call it the same thing.
it sounds like latter day gorky's now, circa sleep holiday. not sure if that's a good thing.
not the same without Gerard
Yes
When did Bill Barr join Teenage Fanclub?.?
who knew Bill Barr was in a band?!
No gerry no fanclub
Jeeez..., faboulus performance, but ruined by terrible mixing and sound....... loved it though....
Scottish never British
Norman’s voice is sadly not as strong as it was
rock n roll ain't ..........
More like grandpas fanclub now
Say that to The Rolling Stones. I would listen to TF any day over Pearl Jam or Foo Fighters.
@@61stratman Pearl jam are great
Sounds like a diluted REM.
I dunno, once you hit like 50 years old, it seems like you need to change this band name to something else.
Wouldn’t that be when they hit 20 years old? Are you also going to ask Sonic Youth and the Rolling Stones to change their names to Sonic Middle-Age and the Rolling Wrinklies?
Agreed. You dont know. The older the band members get the cooler the band’s name becomes
@@LightBranches the Rolling Wrinklies made me smile :-)
