- Claire the Bear wanders around and looks for food in the trash, which results in piles of rubbish forming around the trash can. If she sees a Buster O’Beast stuffed bear or the carved wood bear, she will wave. If she sees a bearskin rug, though, be ready to witness some bear heartbreak. She'll come into a house and look through things. With Makin' Magic installed, if Sims leave partly-filled honey jars after harvesting the beehive, she may come and try to get the honey - and may be driven off by angry bees. She also appears in Downtown to disrupt picnics by raiding the picnic baskets.
I never did understand whether that was supposed to represent a real bear, or a deranged woman in a abear costume :D
It's The Sims, its definitely a deranged sim woman who thinks she is a bear. The clue is when she is attacked by bees and she breaks character.
The Sims is full of bizarre jokes.

the way she stops doing those bear noises and speaks in fluent simlish like a normal person the moment the bees start attacking her is taking me out.
I honestly thought someone else was making those noises on the lot. Nope. The bear.
Maybe Claire just has default female sound files when being attacked by bees.

Despite the DLC-athon the series has since become, they did pour some love into making The Sims.

I remember being 6 and playing the game, then the bear appeared and I freaked out so much I closed the game without saving. I think I even turned off the computer. Things like that made The Sims 1 hilarious.

@@Welshy Yeah, I sometimes played with the audio turned off (especially at night in the game) and I never bought a cooker because fire terrified me before in the game xD Poor Sims had to eat only raw food.

This bear keeps giving me a heart attack, mostly because of the way she walks, very unsettling.
I know. She's creepy, and at first I wasn't sure if she was actually supposed to be a real bear, or just some lady in a costume like the pink gorilla from House Party. Also it startles me when she appears because the camera automatically scrolls to where she is.
Lala she also scared me because I used to think she’d eat your Sim characters.

There were many rumors in Sims 1 of a Serial Killer character who would show up and attempt to murder your sims.
Some claimed the Burglar would do it on special occasions
Some claimed Ghostface would do it randomly
Some claimed the Tragic Clown would eventually do this
And there were some that involve being mauled by the bear
None of this is true, as depicting a full on murder would cause the game's rating to go to M.
Sims 2 actually got into some considerable hot water for an item that had to be cut from the game called the "Run With Scissors Playset!" which enabled Sims of all ages to knowingly and willing to commit suicide

The bear would often come at night and create noise at the trash can and cause the sims to wake up. Now I can see it has many more interactions as well.
I'm glad I never saw this when I was first playing the game. This would have terrified 6-year-old me

Fun fact: I was playing my sims and my sims kid was shoo the bear randomly without my command. I don't know why it is happened. After that whenever the bear came my sims kid didn't do that action again.
Maybe this happens when kids are in bad mood. I saw this too few days ago

Claire went through a family’s trash the other day and they didn’t even react to her presence.
I also recently learned that you can use the mistletoe to attempt to kiss virtually ANYONE. But virtually all NPCs (Maid, Cake Dancers, Butler etc.) will simply reject the kiss. In the case of Bonehilda, the action is added to the queue but disappears.
I wonder if Claire can reject a kiss through this method...
I also wonder how the Obsessed Fan would react too.
I made a video about this mistletoe feature. It's a shame that they always reject, even the cake dancers who are always kissing the guests... The Servo and the burglar have the same effect than Bonehilda. Let's see how Claire and the Obsessed Fan react.

Maybe u need place the object outside so she can intervere. I remember i only put honey outside. The rest inside. She only do animation with honey
I always get Claire the bear on my game but she has never interacted with objects, even when I put them right in front of her. I was always frustrated as a kid because it said in the strategy guide that she did this!

I suspect that Claire Ursine and Claire the bear are the same person. Claire Ursine went crazy, decided to permanently wear a bear suit and reak havock on people's lives!
