Somebody once told me a good way to see the abstract structure of a picture, which is to turn the picture upside down and look at the composition that way.
Hi guys I watched your video 8 years ago and wanted to comment to you then as I too use abstract realism but wanted to add that texture and contrast can be used as an abstraction too .. unfortunately that day our property burnt down and our conversation was lost in the flames 😢 but I’m back and thought I could renter this topic .. thank you for your video
@@johnrogersAlterism That's a tough one, we lost everything in the wildfires 6 years ago, still in limbo with no home or studio. Glad to hear there is hope and you are able to paint again.
Cain Albertson theyre both painterly and tend to have similar stroke quality I think the main differences are the treatment of values, light and color, and the stroke sizes.

Big fan of this style, would recommend the book, "Disrupted Realism" by John Seed and the works of Ann Gale and Nicole Sleeth

@@ibberman thanks no it was actually arson but I am ok now I managed to work hard and rebuild a studio for my painting
