I couldn't listen to Fastway after Dave King left not the same... Saw them for the first time opening for AC DC I was a instant fan for life... Katmandu was great also...
Bad Ass! I was at this show in Madison Square Garden. I was 15. They opened up for AC/DC. What a great band. Many times, you forget the opening band, but they always stuck with me. "If You Could See" Really is a masterpiece. Great band! Thanks for sharing!
They were great when I saw them in around 1984 opening for Ratt on their first headliner. Mamas Boys was on the bill too and was the actual opening act.
MY GOD! I'm a huge Flogging Molly fan and I was a Fastway fan in the '80s (I think I still have the first Fastway record on vinyl around here somewhere), but I never put two and two together that Dave King was the same Dave King for both bands. That is SHOCKING. Wow.
I remember when I first heard this song on a compilation tape, I didn't check the track list and was in another room in the house when it kicked in. I thought it was a Great White song first when i heard it. Dave King had a smokin voice for sure
i saw these guys for the first time in 82 ( yes i'm old )....they opened for Iron Maiden on their Piece of Mind tour...it was Fastway....Saxon...and Maiden,,,,,very bad ass show....
@@thereisagiantcubeinthesun5500 Fastway were the support act for AC/DC on their Fly on the Wall tour in Europe. Saw them in Hamburg at the Ernst Merck Halle on January 27th 1986.

Dude, maybe it's not the best quality, but who cares, right? Wow... I saw Fastway open for Rush after the All Fired Up album was released. They were excellent. And the first Fastway album is a timeless, stone cold classic. Man, THANK YOU for posting this!! \m/
This is great! Most genuine, true and honest sound I've ever heard! A band playing without a bunch of technological enhancing tools and equipment that makes all the music today complete garbage. This is rock and roll in it's rawest form.
R.I.P Fast Eddie. I saw Fastway in 1983 at the Cap Center in Landover Md, they opened up for Iron Maiden, awesome show, still have their concert T-shirt.
@@Project-og6fo Me too, Erie, PA. Coney Hatch/Fastway/Maiden. Lol. I actually still remember how blown away I was when Maiden came out with Where Eagles Dare. I was only 15 and wasn't very familiar with their music. Huge fan to this day.
@@oldsrocket8841 I was also 15, took the train with my friends to the show and had to walk through the rough part of town and barely made it out ….🤣 🤣 but at the time I knew about FASTWAY from radio , but didn’t know until years later it was the guy from Motörhead playing guitar…but I do remember they did a good set and their final song being “say what you will”. Saw these guys on this tour in a much better venue. Dave King did a vocal sol mid set that was unbelievable. I've never heard anything like it before or since. The audience was floored by his range and talent.
That show they did in 1983 in Philadelphia was my first concert. Coney hatch, fastway and Iron Maiden! Do you remember who came out playing a flying V bass guitar?
i loved that trick or treat soundtrack, i bought the cassette and still have it today. all the songs are good. i saw them a couple of times along with the 200 other metal show i have seen. the 80s rocked!
it seemed like Fastway came through Memphis every few months their first year opening for various bands. I did not care for them initially. I saw them open for Maiden and Saxon July 30 1983 at Auditorium North Hall in Memphis. It was the first time i smoked the dope. I don't remember much about their set but one of the guys I went to the show with bought a sleevless Fastway shirt. This was about a week before my 13th birthday and about a month before I became a Motorhead fan. By the time I was 14 I was a Fastway fan and later on a fan of Daves early 90s band Katmandu. The first Fastway album is flawless
I tried talking about FW back in the early days of Flogging Molly at Molly's on Fairfax. He was quite tight lipped about. Almost embarrassed about his hard rock past???
Flogging Molly is phenomenal. One of the best, most raucuous shows you're apt to find. Everyone should do themselves and check them out live. You will leave sweaty, beer-soaked, and exhausted.
What a line up!! Ya don't get the quality shows these days. I should have remembered this better. I had 3rd row at the old Met Center in Minneapolis. Next day in school my poor ears were ringing all day. 3 bands that I discovered from MTV. What do ya get now??? Reality shows,,,lame. I miss this stuff.

I thought they were going to be the next huge band....but they faded and I never knew why. I just remember the singer being incredible...like the next Robert Plant.
Like many here I saw them open for Maiden in 83. Coney Hatch opened the show to a few people. Once the lights went down for Fastway everyone was in their seats roaring as they opened with We Become One! Great show, great memories!

Fastway AND AC/DC. I'm so jealous. Eddie said he always watched ac/dc show when they toured together and enjoyed every single moment. I mean who wouldn't? All I can do is just imagine how great it would be to be in that venue.
One of the most underrated band of all time......Fastway still kicks ass!

Saw them in 1983 opening for Saxon and Iron Maiden (World Piece Tour). Awesome.
That must have been an awesome show!
Great band. King's voice and Clark's riffs made for some great rock and roll.
I seen them open for ac/dc at the Civic Auditorium in Omaha (1983). They tore it down but I seen a lot of good shows there. ROW 66.
