I know the diamond wheel on a tile cutter, has to have water for a coolant . Same for the concrete cutter on the road crews cutter . Does yours need a coolant for the diamond wheel?

I think coolant is used to reduce the heat and dust produced when used with a tile cutter and stop the tool tip getting hot when grinding a tool.
I've not needed any coolant as I'm only removing a small amount from the tool to reform the cutting edge. If I had to remove a lot of metal from the tool I would use a normal grinding wheel to shape the tool form and finish with the diamond wheel.
Or you could dip the tool in water.
