- In this video, Dr Irfan Ahmed PT will discuss about one of the most common fractures of the knee that is Patella Fracture. Patella normally gets fractured with motorcyclists getting hit on their knees at roadside accidents or getting hit against the wall. It is also very common when a car has a head-on collision and the front passenger may hit his knees against the dashboard. Symptoms of Patella Fracture are severe pain, swelling and are unable to bear weight after injury. Types of Patella Fracture Are:
1) Stable Fracture
2) Displaced Fracture
3) Comminuted Fracture
4) Open Fracture
The treatment of patella fracture are:
1) Conservative or Non-Surgical
2) Surgical
3) Stable Fractures Are Normally Treated With Knee Immobilizers or Knee Cast while displaced fractures are treated with open-reduction, internal fixation by using screws, pins and wires. APRC tries to make complex medical information simple and easy to our viewers.

My patella surgery done as on date 23 rd may and now plaster and stitch remove.
But issue is my leg not bend and movement.
Doctor says 1 month फिजओथेरपिस्ट have. To done.

It takes 6-12 months for a fracture to heal completely. Give it some time and continue your physiotherapy.
