Have you ever used the BBEG’s secret weapon against them? 🤔
Gotta be honest, in a DC Heroes campaign, with the characters working directly for Batman, I ran a very similar mission.
The team was Disaster, an immortal mutant played by my brother and a "Robin in all but name", Star, a clone created by Mister Sinister to kill Superman and his programming was removed by Charles Xavier, Archer, no powers, Princess of Rann and daughter of Adam Strange, Amazon, transforms like Colossus but stone and can fly, Disaster's cousin, and Warcry, Disaster's brother, transorms into metal plus flight, Disaster and Warcry are half Lakota half Greek, Amazon is from the Greek side, looks like actress Angie Harmon (who is half Native American half Greek).
Ra's Al Ghul and Red Skull captured Disaster, during the eventual battle at his lair Star, Amazon, and Archer had to use the Lazarus Pit, Star failed his check to control himself.
I ran it more than 30 years ago, lol, classic ideas never die.

Question to All Things D&D , and anyone else who wants to answer. I just started playing D&D. Had my 1st session the other day. Which is already a story in and of itself ..... which I will tell a short version of after I ask this. When you get drugged and are asleep for 16 hours....... does that count as a long rest?

I was accepted to a party , they know I have never played and decided on a true sandbox based game (something I asked for. I wanted a game that had no story to start and was written around our actions on the fly) we decided it would be played as a true game of pure Mayham just so I could learn combat quicker , and be allowed to think outside the box ..... first murder purposes in my mind lol. I name my character "Derrum Boho" and my back story and alignment make it very clear I'm a homicidal psychopath with a taste for murder and loot.
The party gets weird with me after I attack and kill anything with a pulse that dares approach me . My story , my alignment , and MY NAME "DERRUM BOHO" was all fair warning I was going to play a murder hobo, and it's actually led to a great start to a story that I'm actually going to keep a journal of and maybe share with your channel . That's how my 1st session went and maybe I misunderstood what we all agreed on as a 1st short term campaign . I actually think it's going to turn in to a long term campaign because after everyone's initial shock were off and the improvisational story started to build we all started building an amazing story together. It's kind of like we are all DM , and PC at the same time
@Cthulhu Wars he is deeper than a murder hobo, it's just how I wanted to start so I could learn the rules about killing in and out of combat. Characters always have room to grow and change. That's what makes a good story . Charachter growth . That's what makes D&D great also.
My new party didn't get what I was going for, miscommunication , but had another session and the game is going great . Like I said , I will share the story when the campaign gets further in or ends . They are actually starting to love my ideas for the campaign , and even my charachter.
Remember the reason I started murder hobo is to learn mechanics, and the campaign I asked for is all about evolving the game and story with every action , and everyone gets to help add to the story by their actions . I didn't do it to he a jerk, it just started as a way to learn the mechanics
having been nurtured by videogames to do so. yes. mostly using my weapon as a bat to send back thrown explosives back.
one time the whole party was at it I (the tank) was hitting explosive back, the "rogue" was catching and defusing and reseting the explosive, the long range was attacking directly and using the refurbished explosive and the healer was dealing with the screw ups.
Gothamburg, captain Gordon, Lord Wayne, Barbara? Bit on the nose there lol

OP here! I gotta say, it's really exciting that this story became a video on this channel, and I'm glad that so many people have already enjoyed it so far! Also, Trogdor's player is happy that his character seems to be getting so many positive reactions; I didn't anticipate him being more popular than Thea and Akashe!

I think I saw that when I looked it up myself and decided not to say anything. Or maybe I did and the DM let it slide.
Our current campaign is definitely gonna be a longer one but I'll most likely submit it once we finish it so that it can all be told at once or, since it'll probably be long enough to be in multiple parts, not have long waits in between parts. The setting for this one is Victorian London and each character pretty much has their own story going on with occasional merging. Some of us kinda know each other but we're all working for someone who's got us all doing our own things. One of the characters is my character's(who's an archeologist) brother (former criminal and soldier), and he's worked a job or two for another PC who's a blacksmith. And then another PC was laying low as a waitress at the restaurant in the hotel I have a long term residence at in London. She's currently in Paris, and my guy is currently in Massachusetts. So far I've noticed a little Lovecraftian influence but other than that this campaign seems to be a lot more original and realistic, as there is little to no magic in this world

Not the bbeg weapon but the DM weapon.
He was hellbent in preventing my sorceress to use fireball in a closed place, and with closed I don't mean a narrow corridor, but every room smaller than 60x60x30 feet otherwise the stone dungeon would collapse.
My character wasn't even that strong, fireball, Maximilian earthen grasp and frostbite were her only non roleplay spells.
I used fireball only once, we were supposed to hold against a adult gold dragon until the npc would came and persuaded him that we were the good guys.
I gave the dragon 3 chances to behave, and he laughed at my arrogance. Then I gingerly told the DM "I fireball the roof over the dragon" and since he made very clear every other time the catastrophic damage dealt by a falling dungeon roof he had no chance besides dealing a "roof falls everyone dies" amount of damage to the dragon and trapping him under the stones, plot armour, he survived, but that gave me the chance to scold a goddamn dragon for 10 minutes until the allied npc arrived.

Ive got a fun, campaign ending story, that starts with two adventurers, Dotrin silver dragonborn echo knight fighter (me) and Tink a kenku arcane trickster/druid multiclass we are both level 5 at this point and had both ran into Strahd once before, where Tink nearly died. We were in the part of the adventute where we were trying to deliver a important NPC(N) to a church that was safe from vampires. So Dotrin and Tink, along with N start moving and by this point are 6 hours away from castle Ravenloft. As night falls Tink and N set up camp while Dotrin takes watch. In the middle of the night, a swarm of zombies raid the camp, Dotrin and Tink are able to dispatch them with a mixture of moonbeam and longsword, Strahd had a more elaborate plan however and had charmerd N. During the entire fight he had been trying to turn N into a vampire. Tink found N, who was being grappled and bitten by the Vampire lord himself. Tink cast daylight, chill touch, and moonbeam so Strahd couldnt heal, and was taking constant damage. After the zombie fight Dotrin was at around half health for a 5th level fighter with no magical weapons he decided it was best to try to get N away from Strahd, after a few tense rolls against the vampire lord, N was no longer in the clutches of the vampire lord, who had used all of his legendary actions to vampiric touch Dotrin, leeching him and leaving him unconscious. Strahd looked toward Tink, who had kept his soells on Strahd for the entire fight, and ran, double dashed and turned into a bat to try to fly away. Tink had other plans and chased the vampire his whole movement and cast chill touch once more. "Roll to attack." The dm said, looking panicked by now. "Okay. 13 plus my spellcasting modifier, 18 to hit?" Tinks player asked, smiling. "That'll hit. No need to roll damage, hes got one hp left. But he poofs into his mist form... Wait. I think hes too far away from his coffin to regenerate." After 5 minuites of around table discussion, a lot of math, and some fist bumps, we had killed strahd and saved the continent. This is one, and the start of many adventures for Dotrin and Tink so let me know what you think of think of them.
TROGDOR was a dragon, er I mean, he was a dragon-man, er, maybe he was just a man... But he was still TROGDOR!!!!!
Ra's Al-Ghul would actually be a awesome DnD villain especially if you play him like the movie starting as a mentor until revealing his true evil but noble plans and have him be killed only for him to show later alive and using his full strength.

That sounded like a very well done Homage setting, would've loved to've been involved. It was very clever of the group to use the very healing pool the Villian used(though why said Villian kept it unguarded is beyond me) and it reminds me of something a Ranger friend once said: "Even if your on the right trail, you'll get trampled on if you just sit there."

OP here. He did have his elite guards guarding the pool, but the room was big enough and we spread out enough that it didn't stop us. Plus it didn't matter for my character with his wings and magic lol

@Greater Grievobeast 55 -- it would've been an awesome setting. You can easily tweek a low-grade Batman villian into a Good-aligned PC for loads of fun! Clock King(Warforged Rogue Mastermind-Lawful Neutral), Baby Doll(Gnome/Halfing College of Lore Bard-Neutral Good), The Mad Bomber(Human Alchemist Artificer-Caotic Good), Romulus(Tobaxi Open Hand Monk-Neutral Good), Maxi Zeus(Goliath Storm Herald Barbarian-Caotic Good), Augustus Roman(Human Gloomstalker Ranger-Chaotic Good), etc. Yirbel Lives!

One thing I can give a thumbs-up to is at least they didn't make the villain the Joker! Yeah there was a mention of a mister J but the villain being Ra's al Ghul was a nice touch! People really need to be reminded that Batman has more than just one arch nemesis! I know the Joker's popular but it only hurts his quality of the character every plot line has him in it and one way or another as way too important. It's why people have so many different Batman villains I love Joker like the next person but I do know Batman has some damn good other villains who are just as good as the Joker! Hell Arkham Origin may have made a joker story but Bane was just as good a villainous Joker was. Especially since they weren't having him act like the Bane we got used to in the other Arkham games but the classic knightfall Bane

I love the story and uniqueness of the setting
Never used their weapon against them, but the Force Cage thing, yeah, effectively have. Cave that spends half the time underwater. Riches buried in sand. NPC we met along the way goes to claim the sword that was his payment for helping us to find the place. Sword turns whoever touches it into a huge demon thing. Strong enough to kill or almost kill anybody it hits Very dodgy for such a huge thing. Sorcerer had blind though. Don't think the GM expected that. Eventually killed the current wielder and stuffed the thing into a bag of holding to carry it w/o touching it just as we were knee-deep in water. The climb through the crack in the ceiling to a dry place to wait for the tide to go back out was fun. After that and digging up the treasure, it became a "ring to Mt. Doom" type thing. And then after the other swords like it, since they were a set.

Just wanted to preface this with I love your stuff man. Do you like any other lesser known RPGs that you would recommend? Also do you run your own campaigns or are you just a player? Do you read 40k lore? Are we gonna get another of those dark comic readings that dark chronicles one?

Should I make a cleric/rouge or just a Cleric
Depends on what your going for. If your mostly wanting melee damage, then maybe a few levels in rogue would be nice. But, if your a primary spellcaster I'd go straight cleric.
My DM used my level 12 fallen Cleric/Thief/Fighter as a BBEG in another campaign. No one noticed it was my old character until after the campaign ended!

Well, that was interesting. The DM did sort of wing it with LORD Wayne(obviously a nod to Bruce Wayne) and I am guessing Embaca is Spanish for "bat". Ignoring the Batman references, it's funny how the DM forgot about the pool until the players used it against him. Nice adventure to end a campaign.
In my current campaign that I'm running, I'm actually hoping that my party will use the BBEG's secret weapon against them.
My BBEG for my current campaign is my first lich ever, and his phylactery is a dagger that he carries on him at all times. If one of the players manages to take the dagger from him, they trigger a power word kill glyph, but after that first touch, grabbing it is harmless. The way I'm hoping to do this is to set up an extremely challenging fight, but if one of the players manages to take the lich's dagger and stab them with it, it will instantly kill them.
Glyph ward become useless the moment you move away the place you casted the glyph making the glyph useless if I remember correctly
@@korruptedapple3854 nope, it lasts until triggered or dispelled.
@@Bossaru9000 If the object moves more than 10 feet from where you cast the spell the glyph is broken and the spell ends without being triggered so that would not work cause you move away from where you cast it and bring the dagger the glyph would be broken as it says on the spell.
The sword sometimes goes behind the dress because it's in front haha

Uh..... if I were GMing that session, the first thing I would assume is that all the players would want to jump into that pool as soon as they saw what it did. You can’t dangle a Lazarus Put in front of a bunch of PCs and be surprised when it happens. Sounds like the GM was prepared for it though so no big deal. I just don’t know why you’d assume that it was unexpected

Yeah, she was naked when we first entered the room, along with the other elves that were restrained. We also found out, after going through Diabloseph's belongings, that elf blood acted as an activating agent for his Lazarus Pit

This was a bad story. At No-Point does it mention using the BBEG's weapon on the BBEG. They used a vat of healing potion to heal themselves that's not in anyway amazing nor does it qualify as a weapon in ANY way.
