Glenn Loury is the most inaudible voice in the racial conversation in America, which is a damn shame because he's sure as hell one of the most sensible. He's truly an intellectual heavyweight, & I'm beginning to suspect that there are many like him, but they're unknown because what they have to say is too important & substantive to fit into a 30-second sound bite for a big-name cable news provider.
Yeah, Thomas Sowell; John McWhorter; Coleman Hughes - lot's of great thinkers, respected in their academic fields where *race issues* are but a small component of what they're on about.
Glen is one of the bravest black man in America today. He has been speaking out for years. The fact blacks do not listen to him is testament to the power of his truth.
Lol you’re an idiot you whites don’t listen to whites who control corporations far smarter than this man you dumb pale face 😂😂😂 I can leave links If you’d like. Glenn is an idiot by the way
Am prepared to lessen prison sentences Glenn. But regarding harder drugs and legalization, addiction may be a medical problem, but would decriminalization make access easier and greater therefor causing significantly greater addiction problems?
Decriminalization keeps the the drugs on the street. Legalization & regulation cedes that task to big business. Just grant the pharmaceutical companies permission to profit off these substances, set the parameters at which they could (i.e. limit the purchase of Sudafed to one box / month) & you will see black market sales sharply decrease. Not because legal purchase is available, but because corporate America wash won't let anyone cut in to their profit margin.
I get the sense from the lack of substance of your comment, that you would likely not answer any of the questions posed with any "more" insight or thoughtfulness than Glen.

Check out Thomas Chatterton Williams. Heard about him from Loury via Sam Harris' podcast.

I wonder if Glenn still has the position on healthcare that he expressed here.
First thing I thought about too!
Glenn looks a little bit like Hannibal Buress in this video because of the way he is looking up and squinting his eyes.

Glenn advocating for Medicare for all before it was cool.
FWIW: About the 1/10th of the population that is the professionalized fighting class: 9/10ths of it doesn't fight. It just supports the fighters.

Michael O'Brien Not if the example of Portugal is indicative of how things would play out here, which presumably it is.
Access couldn’t be much easier
