I don't think people could even grasp the level of design, engineering, and fabrication that it would take to pull off what you have done. My family builds stream liners to run Bonneville. We do not just wing it. Everything is thought through right down to bolt placement. This is on point, man. Great job.
mika isopahkala think you would be able to fabricate a rear end for a buggy ? I don't have this particular set of skills bu I work hard, i would definitely pay good money it
I’ve gotten one now, think I found a decent off a predator 525 it’s abc for future use everyone, they have cv axles are setup for its and chain drive rear end
I am currently building a 3 cylinder 2 stroke powered 2wd 2 seat custom buggy using front and rear long travel suspension modules from a VW sand rail and a upsized KJ racing rear diff. im getting close to the first fire of the brand new ported mach z 800 engine and i must say im glad i didnt make it quite as involved as your buggy, props to you youve got alot invested and had do some serious figuring lol. i love it. mine should have about the same hp too.
Awesome! I'am sure that you can build these for a living 👍 Beautiful thought thru seriously piece of engieneering right there! And a Good way to get use for a old Volvo m45 gearbox 👏 Cheers from northern Sweden 🍻
I am very interested in the files and a parts list so I can build my own. Hell I’ll even sign an agreement saying I can’t sell it. I just want to build one for myself!
Outstanding job my friend just outstanding!! I want the same buggy with only 1 change I want a 4 seater to take my grandkids with me on long trips on the Rubicon
Surely so many people asked after the plans and I dont see a link here. I only saw one drawing on the video of what was possibly the articulation geometry. Did you actually draw the full buggy before you started? or needed to go back at the end to draw where all the bolts etc were placed after you worked it out in build and never got around to doing the drawings? Its seems with the water/laser jet cut plates youy must have had files for those from the start so knew the dimensions of the frame? Im not so interested in the 4w steer system but I would like to be able to turn out these buggies given the current cost of SXS in my country.
Every time I start to think I have some great home fabrication and engineering skills, I find something like this and can only grovel because I'm not worthy! Haha sheesh man, you are friggen brilliant! Are you sure you're not an alien?
Just an idea, for next build to just take a lada niva gear and transferbox, reverse the rotation of the driveshaft and throw it in there? Cool build tho morjensta Virosta.
Wouldn't this spin the transmission backwards and force you to use the reverse gear to move forward? Excuse my ignorance but i am thinking about using this setup but i don't want to go down this road only to find out you had some special gearbox that was built to be driven in reverse or something.
if that happens with your setup you can swap the engine to the front to reverse the rotation. the seats a little to the back and all... but is best to use it in the transversal alingment, bad oil distribuition can f**k all the engine up, so... =/
Use a Polaris atv transmission and rear axle. Way easier and already built to do the job. Also, with a Polaris atv transmission you can run any snowmobile engine of your choice to it. No shifting, except forward high & low, neutral, and reverse. Way more power and much simpler design.

I suppose if you had the time and nothing else to do and had a pile of parts and steel laying around this might be worth-while. But the cost to the average guy would probably border just buying a new RZR XP and that's not even taking labor into account. Cool build though...but I would personally pass on the rear steer. With a chain drive like that I would think it would be unstable at speed, and a chassis this small really doesn't need it IMO.
@@isopah86 hell yeah. And this is way better than a polaris. Nice work man. I'm planning on starting a fab shop soon and plan on building some buggies. Hopefully within the next year or so. Did you make any plans for this build? If so, I'd be interested in buying a copy.
@@isopah86 If you're saying that you can build this for ~$3k (1/5 of a General), then I would suggest you start mass producing them 'cause you'll make a fortune. I'd still like to see this thing running rough terrain at 70mph. It's a cool buggy for sure and probably better than a RZR for crawling, but that's where it ends.
Interesting build, what do you do with the transmission on the engine? I’m assuming your running the second transmission as it gives you reverse...is that all it does and the engine transmission does the rest?
The heat from the radiator is going to be an issue blowing back on the occupants. In my opinion, it would be much better behind the driver's head like where a rear window would be. An electric fan on the rear of it would pull air through and the heat would exit behind you. It's how most Ultra 4 cars are built.
If your gonna spend that amount of time and money it needed to be wider and a little taller with taller tires That translates to a little more tubing and a taller tire You already bought new tires whats a little more money gonna hurt to have a build thats gonna look and perform at least three times what you built Other then that great work
