Different actors playing the kids than the other episodes, and a different Loretta. Was this filmed another year? The hairstyle of the elder son looks very 1970's

All 9 episodes of the show were taped in 1981, including this discarded pilot. Even though it was on the fall schedule, ABC asked for all kinds of changes after ordering it to series, which they were able to accommodate, even with the strike going on, in order to make an October premiere. Also note the episode listing in the description is wrong. This isn't the episode "Alienation of Affection" (which did air May 7, 1982).

Those are the 2. The older (and now unfortunately-defunct) version of the Erma Bombeck Collection site did have an extremely lousy copy of "Alienation of Affection" uploaded there, but they never uploaded it here, and the current version of the website only links to here. They have never uploaded "Mark's Shrink" anywhere. (They didn't acknowledge me requesting it, either.) It's the one episode I've never seen -- ABC never aired it.
