No one in the history of music has had a run like Drake not even just hip-hop I mean music in general no one has ever been at the top for a decade plus 💯 When Drake is gone people will finally realize we will never get anyone like Drake ever again... The GOAT 🐐🔥
Drake is the Tom Brady of Rap. Most wouldn't see him as the best however he just has so much on his resume. Like Kendrick Lamar could drop another album a we would remember... There are more talented artists in the industry. But Drake just has so much that it's hard to look anywhere else. Just don't compare him to the Beatles
Drake needs to drop a song that's semi socially conscious but still bangs. Talking about his life and whats been going on in the world as of late this is a lane he hasn't done and it's risky but possible that it can buzz hard.
I think in hip hop, there are 2 things that can happen to a great. 1) They eventually fall off and become forgotten or become just another rapper or 2) they reach a point of reverence where they are looked at with nothing but respect by other greats and gain a die hard following of fans. Examples of the latter are able to fall back and release a project whenever they feel like it and still do decent sales. Obvious examples of this case are Jay Z and Eminem.
@Deavon Jenkins Idk about messing up his legacy. Imo, Kendrick already has the Jay Z/Eminem level of legacy. He isn’t just a great of this generation, he’s an all-time great. J. Cole too. Both are all time greats and many people already put their names next to Biggie, Pac, Nas, Jay, and Em.
That is why Kendrick will always be my favorite during these times. He takes his time to craft an album not rush and make fast food music to sell records like Drake...Dont @ me. lmfao

Its interesting how people like Lil Wayne keeps the status alive since a child to this day and how hard of a struggle it is for the more sensitive artists we know and love. What is the difference ?
The point about reinventing your craft so you can’t compare it with your past work is brilliant. Seems like the most successful artists who play the long game do this
There's a reason people think that Drake does not have a masterpiece album. Yall want hits, not cohesive bodies of work. Yall want fire #1's but don't want albums that'll put the artist's name in their own iconic lane as a one of a kind. Drake is a GOAT, no doubt but us saying he's got no masterpiece is us saying we want better from him. We've seen better from him. We want Drake the artist, not Drake the hit machine. We've had enough of the latter. He has to revise what content he's putting out. It sounds the repetitive bro. Girls, money, mob ties, being #1, heartbreak blah blah blah. Same ish, different beats. He's gotta take a break & be free from the pressure & anticipation. I think that's when we'll get the best from him. Until then, I expect the same content he's been giving with better production. 🤷🏾♂️
The weird thing about drake is that he's huge without ever putting out a truly great album, so when he puts out rubbish but radio ready music it's nothing new and doesn't affect his position

Expectations kill artist and personal thoughts, perceptions, and surrounding people do too. At the end of the day, we're all people and big icons like such in the video have to know that, music (although it's a passion and outlet) life has way more to it than "goat status". I'm sure they know it but, as a fan I hope they know some of us understand these thoughts and feelings too
This was an amazing video, I love the conscience-ness of media and hip-hop.
It's funny because this is not the first video I've seen trying to get people to believe Drake fell off. With a catalog like his he can NEVER fall off. Some artists have had long touring careers off a couple of big hits. I just think this is a narrative that the industry plants are trying to cultivate because he is in his new deal where he has more control over his music and earnings. The setup is real.

So it's like the same thing in kpop, female fans have shown to be more loyal. Beyonce and Mariah Carey also have the mass appeal sound that appeals to all demographics. Music nowadays is also more about streaming which is geared to the more tech-savvy youngins
See the thing is Hiphop thrives off the term “It’s a young mans game”!
Nas
