I'll have to plan on re-getting those Ren and Stimpy DVDS in the Complete Series DVD Set in the Almost Complete Series DVD Set after the holiday season
The reason for Almost is because the Adult Party episodes are not on here. They are on another disc, so getting it on home video isn't an issue. SKIP IT! This is all you need. Trust me, you don't wanna watch Adult Party. Especially now that we know the REAL John K.
I hated what they did with it at the time, but now… I kinda gotta admit there’s a few parts I like in APC. Mostly it’s horrible, but I might get it for Ren’s childhood episode… maybe, ha.
Seems like the “Almost” descriptor is used as a joke much like the “Half-ish” and “Some More of Four” was. You’ve actually got the entire series right there. It gives us collectors a real headache when they keep reissuing these shows in more economically packaged cases considering we’ve already secured our original older edition box sets haha.
Pretty much no chance it will ever happen. It's been many years now, would have happened already. At a measily 18 bucks though, this set a steal. At least these DVD's magnitudes better than the Beavis and Butthead ones where Mike Judge purposefully left tons of episodes in the vault because he "doesn't like them." 🙄
This is actually the complete nickelodeon series It's referred to as the "almost" because it doesn't include the short lived spike-tv "adult party cartoon" spin-off. Also some episodes may have been edited like rocko's modern life has
Not to mention many of the episodes are edited, because Paramount used the same copies they used for reruns on SpikeTV. Because SpikeTV was showing more commercials in the early 2000s than Nick was in the early 90s, many episodes had scenes cut out (kind of ironic, considering how the first dvd proudly stated it was "UNCUT").
the 1st and 2nd Season discs are labeled incorrectly on the disc. Disc 3 is actually Disc 2, and Disc 3 is actually Disc 2. Also on Season 5 and Some More of Four the discs are labeled incorrectly again. Disc 3 is actually Disc 2, and vice versa. Other than that the set is a nice compact way to own all of the original Ren & Stimpy.
Nickelodeon DVDs of their shows are made by Paramount, Shout Factory, and Amazon, but Nickelodeon movies are only made by Paramount as both the company that owns them and that makes their DVDs. Did I get that right?
Idk what to say, but it’s a very cool release, but I find it funny how I got the individual volumes 1 and 2 for Christmas (I got volume 3 at Walmart a while back) and not even a month later, I see this come out 😅 good vid by the way!
I might end up having to get some of these older Nick shows just so I can have them and possibly check them out. I may have Paramount+, but I've always been a physical media sort of guy.
So, I looked it up and there appears to be 53 episodes exactly, but since one is unaired, it is not on here, so this pretty much is the complete series. I looked on the Nickelodeon wiki, and there appears to be very little episodes per season. Season 1 has only 6 episodes Season 2 has 12 episodes (Technically 13 because one went unaired) Season 3 has 10 episodes Season 14 has 13 episodes and Season 5 has 11 episodes Doing the math from there, if it says there are 52 episodes, on the back of the case, it would mean that this is almost the complete series, as there are actually 53 episodes, but one episode in Season 2 went unaired. Therefore, we can conclude that this is actually the complete series boxset, but only one episode got unaired. So that would mean that only one episode is unaired, but technically, there are actually 2 episodes on there that are missing, if you count the Adult Party Cartoon, but that wasn't made by Nickelodeon, so that cannot be on there. By that logic, we can conclude that there is one (technically two, but APC one does not count) episode missing on this DVD box set
Also, according to Amazon, there's a revival movie called Happy Happy Joy Joy: The Ren & Stimpy Story, but it's more of a documentary. J's Blu-rays did a Blu-ray unboxing for that a while back.
It's interesting how this doesn't have any Nickelodeon branding. I guess since the Adult Party Cartoon existed and these DVDs were made around that time, Nickelodeon wanted to distance themselves from Ren and Stimpy. They also added a "mature audiences only" disclaimer because the bonus features and previews have adult language and stuff
@@PowerRangersFanAntiDinoFury The seasons 1 and 2 DVD have the Nickelodeon logo edited out at the end. Seasons 3 and a half-ish and season five and some more of four have the Nickelodeon logo intact at the end.
Idk if anyone else has this problem but mine has discs 2 and 3 swapped. So the disc says 2 on the art but the contents are disc 3 and vice versa. This is only for the first three discs in the set covering seasons 1 and 2.
I agree with you Coyotemontana, besides I am a big fan of the ren and stimpy show as I wanna to save my money to buy the complete collection of this as I already got the seasons set!🥰🥰
The first 1.5 seasons only, which were under direction of John K. They are classic. The remainder of the discs are just corporate filler episodes recycling plot points from the first 1.5 seasons. You can safely buy the first of three individual releases comprising this set rather than this set, but for the price you might as well get this one.
I hope these episodes are uncut! Lol nevermind they aren't. Amazon does have the complete series including Adult Party Cartoon but the cases for the discs are the same as the FoP cases. It's also $50 which isn't worth it when you already have the paramount releases
Does "almost complete" mean it's just missing the "adult" episodes? Saw this in-store today and If that's all that's missing I was thinking about getting it.
Certain scenes are edited out in some of the episodes for time. The masters they used for the episodes were from SpikeTV where they edited scenes in some episodes out or shorten them for more commercials. It’s also missing The Lost Episodes DVD which has all 6 episodes from Adult Party Cartoon.
That’s because the contract for some of the music in some of the episodes expired in the mid 2010s and Viacom failed to renew the contract, that’s why.
Seriously, don’t watch the APC episodes. Watch the original Nickelodeon show instead. Also, I may get the set at some point, probably during the weekend.
Man you people really don't respect others opinions on apc do you? They want to forget that ever happened, the original version of the show is mature enough for me, especially when in fact that it's pretty gross and some episodes seemed pretty adult themed compared to other nicktoons Nickelodeon aired
I saw this at Walmart and almost bought it but it said The almost complete collection. I wanted a complete collection. While watching this video, I went on Wikipedia and it does say 52 episodes in 5 seasons. It's all there, every episode. Why do they do this crap.

It doesn't include "The Lost Episodes" DVD set. Good thing because it's too rough and it's just unwatchable.
Yeah it also cuts some seconds from episodes but over all its really good
The almost actually refers to the episodes from adult party cartoon
@Connor 64 kind of. You're missing out on a lot of scenes that were cut from the DVDs
Honestly, I don’t think we’d be missing much
So glad the DVDs are now in a smaller case! This’ll take up less shelf space! I’ll totally get it soon!
Heck, I even got the same copy today too.
@@themoviecollector053 That’s great.
Kinda wish we'd get a full uncut version of this show man I'd pay 70$ for it if I had to
Season 1 & 2 are uncut
@@iluvcartoons2734 I know i want the rest to be as well lol
Actually season 1 and 2s disc is cut way more than advertised
@Mick Zack 495 that's a good scene :/

I've been told the episodes being edited is the reason why this is labelled as an "almost complete series."
Well in my opinion the spike TV version doesn't count
Yeah, the artwork is nice, I like its purple color

It does still let you know that Nickelodeon was involved in the airing of this show though. But you don't find out until you watch all the DVDs.

Didn't know this reissue existed. I need to rebuy it so it takes up less self space
It came out today.
@@andykishore thanks
Now I can tell that it's called the almost complete series because of the lost episodes AKA Adult Party Cartoon.
Nickelodeon REFUSED to acknowledge APC.
@@SuperCodywebb But at least that the almost complete series DVD and Adult Part Cartoon are individuals.

I really like the show, but I still think for the record that John K is someone I'll never forgive. Again, this show is a classic

It’s 52 episodes but 93 segments
Questions. Is Man's Best Friend on there?
Is Big Baby Scam edited?
Thanks!
Man's Best Friend is on Disc 2.
Big Baby Scam is still the edited Digitally Remastered Classics version.

The other episodes are way too over the top they dont want to include them
Maybe in the future, Paramont will be released
Ok
Pretty lame that this, Alf and others aren't released in complete series sets. No reason for that or shows that are burned on demand.
