The interesting thing about Ed Edd n Eddy is that it premiered 3 days after I was born, and SpongeBob premiered approximately 4 months later after my birth.
When I was in 3rd Grade, I watched this show a lot and went to Chuck E Cheese a lot too, and I thought about this show and the other shows over there every time during that year. I also watched an episode of this show at a hotel where I went for Valentines Day in 3rd Grade
You know what I think? I think Eustace and Muriel’s personalities are similar to that of Mr. and Mrs. BigHead from Rocko’s Modern Life, where the wife is more kind (Bev BigHead and Muriel) and the husband is more grumpy (Ed BigHead and Eustace).
Quite a dark children’s show, there was an episode where Eustace lost his head, but while his headless body was shown at the end, his beheading happened offscreen.
And it was a space chicken who pulled off Eustace’s head with a plunger, and he tried doing it to Muriel at first, but since he did it to Eustace instead, it spared Muriel from suffering the same fate as her husband.
I wish they had included the short that the series is based on The Chicken From Outer Space. The short was nominated for an Academy award and that could have been a great selling point.
Justin Middleton yeah but if that's true CN is being dumb. The Short being Nominated for an Academy Award should be enough to solidify it as worthy of a home media release.
I think that pilot is only included on the Australian release of Season 2 DVD. Also, Courage the Cowardly Dog got treated even worse in Australia with only 2 out of 4 seasons released on DVD in Region 4.
Didn't even know they had this I just looked up at Walmart and saying that they had it for 29 bucks as soon as I get off at 12 midnight I'm going to get it I'm going to buy me a Red Bull some popcorn I have my junk food ready and I'm just going to pig out and watch Courage plus I'm off the next 2 days
If they included a picture of Batman and Superman on the Boomerang insert, then it would have been all 4 franchises that Warner Bros is known for: Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes, and DC.
Cartoon Network’s DVD strategy in a nutshell. Courage: all 4 seasons😄👍 Dexter: Season 1 only😞👎 Foster’s: Seasons 1&2 only😒 Ed, Edd n Eddy: Seasons 1&2 only😤 Bravo: Season 1 only😡👎 Cow and Chicken: none😱😱😭 Billy and Mandy: Season 1 only👿👿
At some point after Courage the Cowardly Dog: The Complete Series is released, I hope the Cartoon Network Hall of Fame collection would release the rest of Dexter's Laboratory and Johnny Bravo and maybe they would release more shows that hadn't been on dvd in a long time, like Cow and Chicken, Mike, Lu & Og, Codename: Kids Next Door, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and Evil Con Carne.
+andykishore That was a decent special all in all, though i just couldn't quite get used to Wallace Shawn's performance as Eustace. His voice just didn't have the same "conflicted, grouchy old man" vibe that Lionel Wilson and Arthur Anderson's takes on the character had, though aside from that one thing it was otherwise very true and respectful to the original with the exception of the switch from traditional to CGI. Anytime i heard Eustace speak in that, all i could think of was Rex from Toy Story.
Are you a fan of the 90s Warner Brothers show Animaniacs? Because if so, The Complete series was recently released on DVD, and the packaging is very similar to the complete Hey Arnold set you bought a few years ago
Just got this bad boy while at Wal-Mart today, and it feels so good to own the entire series now as this was one of my favorite CN shows as a child. With having only the first season for so long this was a must buy for me. :)
You’re so bitter, courage is a very highly rated show, it’s easily one of the best, if not the best. The others are deserving of releases as well, but why tear down a phenomenal show?
I think he's bitter because of the lack of DVDs for other similar shows. Ed edd n eddy is more popular than Courage yet hasn't gotten this treatment yet. Courage is a shorter series though, so it'd be easier to push out as a bundle, I guess. He didn't really insult Courage, just called it a "cult classic" which it kind of is.
I recently purchased this set off Amazon and received it today. I also purchased the Scooby-Doo meets Courage crossover movie as well WITH the slipcover that also arrived today. I'll probably binge watch the series some in October when I want to watch something creepy/spooky feeling around Halloween time. I guess the two most memorable things I remember about this show is the guy that always said, "Hey! Watch where ya goin'. Ya fool!" and then that one episode when the guy was turned into a drink machine. He kept popping up, if memory serves me correctly, saying, "I say, do you want your Root Beer?" and then proceeded to follow Courage as he fled screaming in fear. 😂
I don't see them putting out other complete series anytime soon. They only did this, bc they already released all the seasons, and didn't have to create new discs.
+Jose CastroRamos Got it less than a week ago from Wal-Mart and loving it so far, for previously i only had the individual release of Season 1 so this was a great deal for the entire series. I decided this would be the best way to go as i didn't really want to bother buying the other three seasons separately, thus getting a complete package for only $30 was a great deal if you ask me.
I do hope that this leads to them putting out more of these shows in complete sets, of course starting with Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo even though i don't like the later seasons of those quite as much as the first few. Personally, i would absolutely love an Ed Edd n Eddy complete series set as that was my second fave old school CN show after Courage. It's still cool that this came out anyway, as i really didn't feel like picking up the other season sets since they had already announced this set.
@@justinmiddleton8818 you know that Ed, Edd n Eddy is celebrating their 20th anniversary next year, especially Courage The Cowardly Dog and Mike, Lu & Og, right?
+JoseCastroRamos Yeah, the show premiered on Cartoon Network in January 1999 so it will indeed be 20 years old. Maybe they will come out with a complete series set eventually to celebrate the anniversary, since they only released the first two seasons on DVD years ago it would be perfect for them to just have it all released in one set.
Cartoon Network had some great cartoons like Dexter's Laboratory, Ed, Edd N Eddy and Johnny Bravo too. I don't own any Cartoon Network DVD releases yet but I plan to purchase some when I have more money.
This is cool and i'll be picking it up but I would have much rather had them do complete series sets of Johnny Bravo Dexters Lab and Ed Edd n Eddy or Fosters home rather than courage which already has all of its seasons out individually
I already have the Season 1,2,3 and 4 of Courage the Cowardly Dog. I wish to waiting for The Complete Series DVD of Johnny Bravo,Dexter's Laboratory,Cow and Chicken,Ed,Edd n Eddy,Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and The Powerpuff Girls in the future.
Really awesome review- exactly what I was looking for. I hope we get BluRays of these one day. I was wondering how the transfer/picture looks on this Courage the Cowardly Dog set?
+Kelly Mcabee I really don't know, and even more surprising is that a lot of the classic CN shows are already on iTunes and other digital download platforms. I checked and they have the complete series of Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, and Ed, Edd n' Eddy all available for download. At this point if it looks like no DVD releases are coming for any of these in the near future i might just resort to getting them that way.
Well J's Blu Rays the only problem is some other cartoon Cartoon Network shows have marked off the rights to amazon burn on-demand service on one of Jay Toonz's DVD news reviews mentioned that some other shows are releasing on DVD exclusively on Amazon not in stores and they sell for decent prices you should find the video and watch it to see what I'm talking about
6:18 Transparent Boring Clear Discs on all 4 discs, I am not a fan of these discs, because they can easily get fingerprints and scratches on it. I really wish Warner Bros. would stop doing that. Who agrees with my opinion on clear discs?
+andykishore Yeah, it sure beats how Disney does with a lot of their releases where there is absolutely zero artwork on the discs at all and it's so bland. It's a far cry from the days when they spared no expense putting great artwork on the DVDs and Blu-Rays.
Agreed. I can't even put the disc back in without getting it covered in fingerprints. Then, if you try to rub the smudge off then it creates hairline scratches. So annoying and not good for preserving the discs properly.
You're one of two UA-camrs I've seen whose DVD came in a black case. Mine and several other UA-camrs had clear cases. Do you know if the clear cases are bootlegs?

Rip to Thea White the actor of Muriel who passed away this year and next month they are releasing a crossover movie between Couarge and Scooby Doo

They will this november.
The interesting thing about Ed Edd n Eddy is that it premiered 3 days after I was born, and SpongeBob premiered approximately 4 months later after my birth.
I remember the CN endtag logo that usually played at the end of a Courage the Cowardly Dog episode. The music for the logo is really catchy.
I hope by next year they'll release the complete series of Ed, Edd n Eddy to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the show.
I agree.
Cow and Chicken was one of my favorites

Not to mention an easy way for them to get scratched.
