I bought Sacred in the original box when it hit the shelves in 2004 (I'm in the U.S.). I started and finished the game with a Gladiator, and as soon as I was done I started a Seraphim. I'd gone two-hander with the Gladiator so I decided to go dual-wield with her. There were different mechanics in play in those days and one of them was... splitting, I think it was called? You'd be in combat with an enemy and it had about a one in a thousand chance of cloning off a duplicate of itself on any given hit. This meant that any LOOT you got was DOUBLED. I could have shit when I got twin axes or hammers (I can't remember which) and they both had 4 sockets, and they both had natural +10% experience, and +15% life drained from enemy. So what do I do? As soon as I hit level 7 I give her "Dual-wield" and put them in her hands. As I got the runes for experience gained and life-drained I socketed them putting 2 of each in each of the weapons. Now here's the thing: You may not know it but in those days the runes had greater power. They were each 5% experience gained and 5% life drained. So she was getting 40% more experience and draining 50% life per hit. It wasn't long before I just started selling ALL of the health potions she found because she just DIDN'T NEED THEM!!!! She wielded those things through bronze level all the way to the end. But it wasn't too long into silver level that I knew I had to get rid of them. They just weren't cutting it in silver. Six months later I had a hard driver failure and never saw her again. Now any of my other characters. Eventually through patching they introduced the famous "Insta-kill Skel-mage" bug which killed your character when you killed a skeleton mage. When they corrected this with SACRED PLUS, they nerfed the combat rune bonuses down to 3%. Anway, great vid. Glad to see I'm not the only player still loving it.
Lightning bolts and life absorbed from the opponents at around 40-50% is pure overkill. I have level up a seraphim to level 100, and dragons at platimum level are nothing, even a group of high elves don’t prove any difficulty.
Lightning Bolt is broken because it hits the target directly even if they run away, bypassing defense. Only weakness is it can get deflected since it's magic.

This game right from the time when devs had creativity, love it (i love to pretend that Sacred 2 and 3 don't exist)
Never played sacred 3 but I heard it was a disappointment, I didn't mind Sacred 2

This is true, but it is hard for spells to be deflected from mobs
