The best way to declutter a kitchen is to do a makeover in it. Last year my parents renovated their kitchen, it seemed like nothing was ever taken out of their kitchen in almost 25 years and the amount of stuff they got rid of was truly amazing. I love what you did to your parents kitchen and I’m sure they love it! Great job Amanda.
I appreciate you showing work that can be done with no or very little money. My family has been seeing financial hardship for years for various serious reasons. We bought a double wide house on acreage about 8 years ago and did tremendous amount of work on it including a massive front and back porch additions, large gated garden and beds and fixing plumbing, electrical (thank God for my electrician brothers) etc. 4 years ago I broke my femur and work got SO MUCH HARDER but most noticeably SLOWER! I can understand what your parents are going through. I had to take care of my 2 little children while I couldn’t walk for over a year at all and had no relatives that live close to help. You r doing a wonderful job. I have to work in similar manner. One small area at a time WHILE dusting and decluttering, doing laundry, cooking and driving my children to/from school all at the same time. But we definitely got a lot of things done and it’s all beautiful at the end
I love that you are helping your momma and dad. And love the make over . I have always done the same thing with paint. Use what is left over and mix them to make other colors. AND I THINK I SHOULD SAY YOU ARE THE TRIM QUEEN.
I need hip replacement and my house has gotten away from me a bit. It’s hard when the ability to do things comes on. Your mom is so blessed to have such a great family. A reflection of her.
My mother was the same way as yours..she loved her STUFF. My mother grew up during the depression so I guess that's what made her hold onto everything. But it's o.k. it was her treasures just like those are your mama's treasures.
That is so sweet what you did for your parents. You're a special person and daughter. You're One and a million God bless your mom and dad. Hope they get Better they will be in my prayers.❤
First time viewer from central Georgia, USA. This was quite a transformation and a wonderful gift to your parents. the gray cabinets & black hardware look beautiful. The budget angle was excellent, too. How you did all of that with people cooking and the counters full is beyond me! You are very brave; I would've had paint all over everything. Looking forward to your doing their laundry room next. Thanks for sharing this makeover.
I 👏 you for helping your parents now days ppl don’t take the time out to do for their parents. I love your comment about clutter nobody should never talk about someone’s clutter now nastiness that’s different. Keep helping one day you’ll look back at this video and wish you could go back to this date. I sure miss my parents I helped my mom after my dad passed away.
I was happy to see your mom felt good enough to help. She looked like she was enjoying herself.I am sure your parents just love having everyone together. The kitchen looks great, and so different.I hope y'all know how wonderful you are.❤❤❤❤
Hi Amanda I think you are doing an amazing job helping your sweet family I wish I still had my parents around to help you enjoy doing for them for as long as you can I hope you have a blessed day ☺️
Girl, look at you up on top of the fridge. Good for you 🤗 I love this for your parents. Everything is so beautiful. I really like the white trim. Mom's moving great. I bet she had a blast working on this with you gals. You and Heather are a great team!
I’m so glad that your mama is ok Amanda!!! I love that your doing this for them!! I’m sorry about your daddy my father in law had that and he went blind from it!!!! I hope your daddy will be ok!!!!!!!
Just came across your channel & today I’m tackling my single wide 1960s kitchen! I’m going through a divorce and life has completely turned upside down, but I’m so thankful for the space we have to call our own❤. You have no idea how much i needed to see this today, such an inspiration. I’m a single momma to 4 littles on a tiny budget now trying to turn a very dated, work needed home into a comfortable home for us ♥️ looking forward to watching all of your videos!
Girl! I’ve got 4 kids and my husband and I separated over a year ago. My heart was broken and my kids lives were turned upside down. Trust gods plan! It hurts at the time but you’ll see his plan for your life unfold and then it’ll all make perfect sense ❤️
Bless you for helping your parents! I did what I could to help my parents. My mother was a heart patient as well as my dad. He also had diabetes. After my mother passed, age 58 I tried even harder to be there for my dad. He lived to be 79. I have a mentally challenged sister who they took care of. I now take care of her. She lives by herself, but I am her guardian. I pay her bills, take her to the Dr and handle anything that comes up. I've always tried to get her out for entertainment. It's a comfort to know that I did what I could for them.
just got back Friday night from our 3 week long vacation! my 2nd ankle surgery has exceeded my expectations!. im not 100% in walking or swelling but I'm going to be back to cleaning homes/condos starting thurs!!$$$
Oh my goodness Amanda! This kitchen turned out amazing!!!!! I love it! You have given me hope for our double wide kitchen, it has the same older looking cabinets and gold hindge, handles and pulls. I wasn't sure how the white would look, however you have changed my mind! It's beautiful! How many coats of paint did you need once you cleaned the cabinets? And what did you use to remove any grease or build up on them? I noticed your mom has a towel under her mixer, go to the dollar store and in the craft section, get a square of felt, she can cut it the shape of the bottom of the mixer and you can get black to blend in with the counter top, she will be able to move it around on the counter without scratching the new finish. Look forward to the laundry room redo!
We used Blue Wolfe cleaner for the build up. We put a coat of liquid sandpaper then 2 coats of paint! So exciting!! Send me pics on Instagram when you do it!!
You ladies out did yourselves ❤❤❤. I see your mama working too 😂❤. Heather should wear the hair piece whenever y’all go live 😂😂😂😂😂🥰🙏🏽. I’m glad your mom is well and this was so fun to watch that I’m going to watch it again as I clean the kitchen. Miss you all
This is so very sweet of you to do this for them. I want to remodel so bad and thought I could never afford it until I saw your video so I really appreciate this so much. You’ve given me hope ❤.
Oh my God, clutter!!!!! Who does have clutter? It is so great that you help your parents as you do and for do little 💰. You painting above the cabinet reminds me of my brother putting wallpaper above our cabinets when my late husband Steve and I built a new house for our retirement. It was actually a border but Steve stood there holding my brother legs as he stood on the counter tops. Thanks for sharing this with us, you're a keeper!!!!😊
Your a good faughter, I'm 70 years, and some day' my daughter is just life saver. Your Mom probably doesn't want to as for help as your already busy, I do like the greys togethe, I'm sure there are so many colors to accent with, I'm 100% sure your parents really appreciate your hard work
I love how you are taking care of your parents!! I miss mine terribly and I know they appreciate all your hard work but especially you all being there working together..
It looks fantastic, great job! Small hint....you can spray paint the laundry room door knob the same black you used on handles and hinges to update it. I love spray paint...hubby says if something sits to long around our house I'll just speay paint it. 😂
Our countertop Formica was peeled in some spots so we tried concrete. My husband worked at block building company and got some mica powder colors and we did the undercoat cement that we colored black for bathrooms and white for kitchen countertops. We had to redo the sealant 3 types throughout the year until I found the incredible one that lasted over 5 years!!! But for life of me I can’t remember the brand. Now I played with epoxy in our small bathroom and it turned out so amazing. So I plan to use it in black, white and metallic brown epoxy colors in our kitchen. It can be used clear over paint instead of polyurethane. But I want some depth and it’s not crazy expensive either.
Doing projects like this for others, especially family, makes everyone feel good. I would paint the fan blades white. It would look better with the gold and the dust that collects on it wouldn’t be as noticeable if it was black.
I know what you are going through you are very sweet to help your parents I did the same thing they helped us now its our turn the bath turned so beautiful you have done a wonderful job god bless
Hello from Puerto Rico wow ur mom kitchen looks beautiful job well done paint goes a long way god bless u and ur family with good health keep it going with more videos take care 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Great job! I'm always glad to see people helping their parents (or aunts/uncles or even other older people in their neighborhood or church.) Since the ceiling is white, I would paint the blades white. And I would probably take it apart and paint the brass parts black to match the cabinet hardware. FYI the next time you use polyurethane, try painting crosswise rather than lengthwise, it's always best when you can do the surface in one stroke without lifting your brush.
I just found your channel and you all remind me of myself and my grown kids and grandkids I love what you are doing with your mom and dads trailer you are giving me ideas for my single wide trailer I am almost 75 but I’m going to try some of it 🥰
Ps you are so lucky to be living in my favorite place ever Tennessee I have wanted to live in Tennessee since I was 20 years old as I said I am 74 now and I live in Mississippi where I was born but grew up just outside of Detroit
You're such a great daughter! I do hope the nay sayers will keep their opinions to themselves. This is a wonderful thing you're doing. I'm 65 and in fairly good health. But I know the time is coming when I'll need my daughter to do things for me. I pray she'll have the strength and even the inclination to do so. God has given me a wonderful daughter. Good daughters like you and her are a precious gift. What a great job you did. ❤❤
It turned out absolutely beautiful!!! Who would have ever thought you could upgrade the whole look of your home with just a little paint and peel and stick tiles!!! Love your new home Mama!!!❤❤❤❤
You did a very good job on painting and taking up for your parents. Others have no right to judge what your parents have or have not. Our parents are gone and my dad used to build cabinets etc. My sweet sister wants to hang on to everything they had. The only thing I kept is a China Cabinet my dad and my son worked on together. In fact daddy passed out making it and cut his fingers so bad he had to have surgery. But that I definitely wanted to keep
You're an amazing daughter for defending them in advance! No one should judge the people who raised you to be the person you are! ❤

I agree! That’s exactly what she did when we did her bathroom!!
very pretty
Great job, you are such a talented painter and hard worker! I know mom and dad are happy and proud, everything looks great!
Black will show dust on the ceiling fan. Go with white! Nice job for mom and dad. You’re a blessing to them
I appreciate you showing work that can be done with no or very little money. My family has been seeing financial hardship for years for various serious reasons. Idk about trim Queen lol I love doing it though!!
I need hip replacement and my house has gotten away from me a bit. It’s hard when the ability to do things comes on. Your mom is so blessed to have such a great family. A reflection of her.
It is hard on them now at their age. I completely understand what you’re saying!
What I ❤the most about this vid is that everyone helped out, even the teens got up. That is so cool. All in the family, beautiful!!
I just found your channel. What a sweet daughter you are! I enjoyed watching♥️
Great job! It's so nice to see a daughter showing her parents love. You are special!
Never seen such great cutting in! You are a master at the painting.
Thank you so much!!
My mother was the same way as yours..she loved her STUFF. My mother grew up during the depression so I guess that's what made her hold onto everything. But it's o.k. it was her treasures just like those are your mama's treasures.
You're a wonderful daughter & they are so blessed!
I've painted my kitchen countertops twice......it works, just don't sit hot dishes/pans on it.....I have a cutting board for that purpose.
That is so sweet what you did for your parents.
You're a special person and daughter. You're One and a million God bless your mom and dad. Hope they get Better they will be in my prayers.❤
You’re a thoughtful daughter! What a wonderful way to show your sweet parents some love!❤
And your cutting in skills with the brush are awesome!😁

When taking off contact paper, use a hair dryer and heat it. Makes it so much easier.
Gosh, you’re amazing. Well done, it looks so beautiful
Doing projects like this for others, especially family, makes everyone feel good. I would paint the fan blades white. It would look better with the gold and the dust that collects on it wouldn’t be as noticeable if it was black.
Good point!! Thanks so much!
I have seen people put veins on their painted kitchen counters,They used a thin paintbrush 🖌️ Everything looks great.
I know what you are going through you are very sweet to help your parents I did the same thing they helped us now its our turn the bath turned so beautiful you have done a wonderful job god bless
Thank you so much! Sounds like you take care of your family too ❤️

Great job your mom’s kitchen looks great. I might try this myself.
Fabulous! Love your personality! God bless
WOW what a change!
Great job! I'm always glad to see people helping their parents (or aunts/uncles or even other older people in their neighborhood or church.)

Ok, thanks for telling me!!

I just found your channel and you all remind me of myself and my grown kids and grandkids I love what you are doing with your mom and dads trailer you are giving me ideas for my single wide trailer I am almost 75 but I’m going to try some of it 🥰
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Wow! Very impressive! I’m getting inspired to try
I love watching your transformations and your voice is very relaxing to me...
Oh thank you! I hate hearing myself talk lol
So cute ,🐾🐾🐕😊
Amazing job!! A little bit of paint goes a long way.
The kitchen looks so nice! It was very sweet of you to help your parents fix up their home ❤.
Wow!! So pretty!! Great job!
It turned out absolutely beautiful!!! Who would have ever thought you could upgrade the whole look of your home with just a little paint and peel and stick tiles!!! Love your new home Mama!!!❤❤❤❤
That paint color is amazing. I love how it covered the deeper green. Good for you helping your folks. Trying to do same for my Mom. 😊
Fantastic makeover.
Thank you! 😊
I would be the same way! I know that any day could be my last with my parents or anyone for that matter. Love everyone hard! ❤️
Bless you for redoing your parent's kitchen. You did a great job, and I know this will make both of them so very happy!!
Love it! Happy that your mom is doing better.
There's a product called 'Beyond Paint '. Its for countertops and other things. Amazing product. Very durable.
You did a fantastic job!
