    Tie the hind legs of the nurse cow (loosely) while the calf is suckling.
    This is how they do it in India. I saw them on UA-cam.
    Give the nurse cow grain (with additional molasses) to sweeten her suckling experience when she accepts the calf. This will encourage and train her to be a good nurse cow.

    Looks like nutritional scours in when just overeating and not properly digesting. If you’re using sulphur pills then just add an extra pill when medicating him and give electrolytes a couple times a day between feedings and he should pull right thru in a couple days. It probably would help to give him some probiotics too to improve his gut. You can use tube probiotics or I get the powder probiotics and put some in the electrolytes. Good luck and I hope you and calves feel better soon.

    This is why we always milk the cow and then bucket feed or depending how young they are use a bottle

    Weird how they can change around, the healthy frisky one become the weak one, the weak one at the start ends up doing better, just did a couple and they would swap each few days or week

      Livestock with Kati Yes the cow you may have seen in the thumbnail is a Holstein, but the two calves are half Brahma (GIR). If you watched it you would be able to tell that. Have a good one

      On The Farm 😂😂 I love watching her videos because I really like sheep and I love watching your videos because I love watching bottle calves! Are you looking to buy some sheep/ goats?

    • @FarmandHammer
      @FarmandHammer  5 років тому +1

      I used to have meat goats but ended up having to sell them. I’m going to get back into it and buy some sheep as well, hopefully this year! I almost like goats as much as cows lol

    • @Lololo99200
      @Lololo99200 5 років тому +1

      I am actully addicted to goats and I was soooooooo close to buying a couple but we just didn’t have the right place sooooo I bought a bottle calf which was a lot of work and a decent amount of cost for a 13 year old but!! It will all be worth it because it looks great now lmao we have a lot in common🤣🤣

      Yes, you are right. But, if the cow is more aggressive and not allowing the calf to suck. Then, we add rope to her neck and tie it to a pole and then tie her hind legs.
