fabulous.. the voice, the arrangement, the song… a magnificent way to start my day… and great original last verse we gotta keep singing about those hypocrites in Italian suits… bravo …and thanks
Thank you, Michael. This song was only too obvious the song I still needed in my (mining) repertoire. Just had to do something with it. I am really glad my rendition appealed to you.
+Charlie To hear this from you Anthony John means a whole lot to me - even much more than that! I hope Brian McNeill will forgive me my tinkering with his lyrics in the last verse and intermingling with British politics.
Saxonblue on www.acousticguitarforum.com Love your work Charlie, has a haunting gealic feel evocative of how I'd imagine the place to be (despite having never been there). Although I wouldn't ever consider myself a "miner"I have in my years as a surveyor had enough of a taste of marking faces & maintaining line line down a few shafts to miss it. Although I didn't seem to be so badly affected once down there the sense of trepidation before each descent seemed at times overwhelming all the time trying to hide it. (Hard) hats off to the men & women who do it everyday, worth every penny they've earned (& fought for).
+Charlie Your comment, Saxonblue, did me particularly good! Miners contribute so much to the wellbeing of this world wich remains literally hidden under ground. Your own experience and understanding of all this (down under) touched me.

+Tony2581 I had no choice, Tony. Such striking lyrics and compelling music, I could not get it out of my head.
