- I’ve always wondered what is in the bottom of the loaming pits that I search for gold around so often! In this video I begin the task of re-digging out one that I found a lot of gold around.

Great work J to da M it's a big effort digging those holes gives you a rough idea how hard the old timers worked. Can't wait for the next parts.
Cheers G to da Z, I think I will try and dig one from scratch soon but not by myself! It’s a lot easier walking around picking up bits from the surface but curiosity got the better of me here and I’m glad I did it now!

G'day J. I've always wanted to dig a fresh loaming hole in between other existing loaming holes. Sometimes there will be a space between a run of loaming holes which is untouched. Maybe they camped there ? Hard bloody work but the reward would be great. I'm a raker and sometimes will spend half a day raking for no or little reward, but when it pays off its worth it. Most prospectors just wander around, I like to put some effort in like yourself. When it pays its usually good. Great video. Looking forward to more. Cheers Doc

Walking around and picking bits up of the top is a lot easier but if you have the time then it can be totally worth it! I can’t wait to see what you got! Cheers mr Pete 👍👍
@piratescrew1869 your one sounds a lot better than mine, I only got a couple of bits, but it was at the end of the day and I didn't have time to really run over it or pull any material back, I'll have to head back. It would be interesting to wash some of the gravel and see if there is any fine gold.

Good stuff mate. I've done this a few times before with mixed results including a 3.6 grammer. I recon It's always worth a shot. Great video 👍

U would think the untouched sides where the gravel layer is would be the best bet, the oldtimers would of got the majority from the bottom i would say, but you just never know, they after all didn't have a magic stick back in their day!!!
I totally agree and with such a shallow pit they wouldn’t have tunnelled out like the deeper ones.
I often imagine about going back in time with my 6000🤔🤣

Surely everyone on the planet at some stage considered doing this.
I myself have not the resolve to deal with the disappointment of doing all that work for zero reward and quitting very early on would be a certainty.
