Went onto A&C website, took the time to watch the video because have been struggling with the conflict of needing to eat more fish, but not wanting to deplete natural salmon stock by buying wild or to contribute to the poor quality of life for farmed fish or the impact of fish farming on the wild salmon stock in terms of lice etc....... Glenarm/able & Cole what mattered to me here was the salmon stock density and their ability to swim more naturally and their organic diet (both for them and me) , I would have liked more information of the issue of lice and how much the lower density improve this, thought I appreciate as an ex-marketing person that its not an issue you want to alert people to, but maybe a click through to some independent data on the benefits of your organic approach. It felt good to know that you were feeding by hand and the teams are educated about normal behaviour, I know from personal experience how informative behaviour can be. P.s. I bought some and will again, but would still appreciate the independent data to feel completely comfortable with that decision

Hi Dawn, it's great to hear that you really think about what you're eating and where it comes from; it's at the heart of what we do! If you can email this query through to organics@abelandcole.co.uk, we can ask our fish buyer to provide some more detailed information and feed your suggestion back through your account. The Soil Association's website also has an abundance of info on all things organic. Best, Ella-May.

    Do you shoot seals?

Hi there, Glenarm's practices all follow strict guidelines from the Marine Conservation Society and the Soil Association. I would take a look at their websites for more information on the subject but I can confirm that as this salmon is organic, Glenarm will use methods such as nets and sound technology to deter seals. Best, Ella-May.

Im surprised you dont sing your own praises more about the big tides constantly running through both the Glenarm and the Red bay cages, unlike the static near tideless Scottish sea lochs, there is no issue with uneaten food or fish waste or maybe even sea lice, those coalfish and other bottom dwellers downtide every 6 hours each way are reaping the benefit if nothing else and your fish must be swimming strongly against that current on each tide.- Glenarm Salmon are more organic than most...

They dont have enough space. Salmons need space, they swim a lot. Humans...🙄

Disappointing that this video says nothing about the impact on the wild fish population which suffers terribly as a result of the open cages.
Instead the comparison is with intensive salmon farms which is akin to comparing tobacco companies comparing Marlboro reds to Marlboro a lights a decade or so ago.
The fact is that open cage salmon farming is totally unsustainable however you do it and it has decimated some of our most precious wild fish stocks.
Do your research and DON’T EAT IT!! Abel & Cole - as an environmentally conscious company, I’d urge you to stop selling farmed salmon - “organic” or otherwise
