I ordered a UIS module 4 months ago from the dealer and I'm still waiting since they are on backorder. These are supposed to be standard on chassis cab SD's, yet I have not found a single one installed for doing any testing and development. How am I supposed to implement these features when they aren't available?

    It’s 2024 and it’s still not available 😭

Will this be available to retrofit into 2022 F250 XLT?

It’s still not available, they keep hyping it up but remove it from the build list unfortunately. It’s like the marketing team doesn’t stay in contact with the development team

If you really wanted to make work easier for your upfitters you would just use standard J-1939 CAN messages. You wanted to upcharge your upfitters so you made your own proprietary CAN language and designed a translator module that no one can get because of the chip shortage. In order to program that module you also need to purchase a special kit to even connect a PC to the upfitter module. You also need the upfitter software and a verified FIN as well as confirmation from Ford that you are an owner or corporate officer for your upfitting company. This is the dumbest, most convoluted system ever made...great job Ford. I'm switching to Dodge...

It would be a great addition for the FORD PIU, lighting manufacturers are overcharging government agencies with their own solutions for add on products.

Especially since they’re sold as ready for the road and I end up either rewriting everything and pulling the ready for the road harness out. Wasted money.
