I concur, to know God is to have everlasting life, and if walking with God, is to have a relationship with Him and thus to know Him... then ur logic is sound : those who walk with God (know God ) have everlasting life- don't die. ref: 1 John 5:11-12, John 17:2-3
We serve a God who always want to be with us. Joshua 1:9 says For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Lord wants to be with us, if we keep His commandments and obey, have a life that pleases God, according to His promise he will certainly walk with us and we with him.
I agree! To walk with God shows the initimacy between us and God! It is to follow him and we must pay attention, to stay in that path and not to turn away from him to go into hell.
The Greek points to God being pleased with Enoch, such as He was in the Garden before the fall with Adam. Pleased to be in the presence of man and pleased to keep him in his presence by transferring him into heaven. It sounds like priestly language.
Enoch walked (in a manner that pleased God) (he also did not live in a manner that conformed to the world, but transcended the world). In his walking with God he proofed (showed the authenticity of) the will of God; that which is good and acceptable and perfect. See Rom 12:2
I think what it meant for God and Enoch in that time was personal and intimate as you state. What it means in being recorded in the scriptures for us probably has to do with the sacraments. Two taken to heaven not having first died. Two given the Spirit to make the articles of the Tabernacle and teach others. Two go into the promised land Joshua and Kaleb, not dying in the wilderness with their peers. God gives us these two sacraments, Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Honestly, it's a mustērion to me.
Hey Chad do you think you could do a concise video explaining who the true Israel of God is under new covenant and the flaws of dispensationalism. Seems to be a huge faction of Christianity who are hardcore dispensational, and it has major repercussions both doctrinally and also on the geopolitical stage. Thank you!
Chad it certainly makes the book of Enoch interesting and yet not included in our Canon. Interested in your thoughts/insights on that. Translated to heaven, no physical death? Sounds kinda nice almost like Gods peace that passes our understanding. Blessings and thanks for your ministry Rev. Bird✝️
There are issues with the transcript. The only full version we have is in Ethiopic, and I think from the 13-14th century. Plus 1 Enoch seems to be a collection of various writings (at least 2), with the book of the watchers being the oldest. And it ends in a weird way, the book of the parables appears to indicate that Enoch himself is the Son of Man & Messiah. I personally think the book of the watchers was known and referenced in both the OT and NT, and explains the Backstory to Genesis 6 but it’s not wholly necessary for salvation and growth in faith. But that’s just me, I’m just a guy trying to grow in Christ. Not a scholar or historian. Just have always found Gen 6 and Enoch so interesting.
Couple years ago when I was reading chapter 5. I made a note. Those who
walk with God never die.

I love learning what God is telling us in His Word. I eagerly await to be with God in Heaven.
Thank you, Jesus 🙏💗🙏
I can only pray to be able to walk with God, but with Holy Spirit, eventually we will be with God forever, in heaven, with Jesus.

Enoch heart was for God and he walked - or lived according to the ways of God and so he was bonded in word & deed to God

these O.T. folk lived so long in years. I never quite understand that and at what point did they diminish (start to die earlier)?
To me, it means Adam and Eve are not the only human beings to walk with God. Enoch also walked with God.
According to the Word of God.
I'm thinking this was a precursor of Christ.
