PA Plow Day 2024 - Cuttin' Loose and Turnin' Dirt

Finally got around to editing and uploading my video footage from this year's PA Plow Day in Watsontown, PA. Thanks to the effort of Dave Fry and his crew, this year's plow day had a strong turnout, in spite of the questionable weather during the preceding week (I believe I heard a total of 120 tractors registered), but field conditions overall weren't bad, as the ground dried out enough for us to plow 5 fields totaling roughly 90 acres. I rocked the Cub Cadet 782 custom build, and also brought the JD 330 along in hopes of selling it.
I arrived Friday evening, after a late day of work and sitting in endless traffic between Lancaster and Harrisburg. I was greeted by ‪@corysgardentractors7084‬, ‪@1990johndeere318‬, ‪@limekiln‬, ‪@gardentractoracres1369‬, ‪@SingleBottomBoys‬, ‪@popeofjohndeere‬, ‪@Andrew_Black_‬ ‪@cunninghamscadets8924‬, ‪@pacificdrumma‬and ‪@mikescubcadetworld‬, along with a host of other friends who spent the evening around the campfire having a good time.
Despite the wind, Saturday turned out to be a great day weather-wise. Being that most of the fields were in bean stubble, plowing conditions were ideal except for a few wet spots. The 782 performed very well overall, but I am due for a new plow share as I've already worn out the original one on my 3-point plow - and they are currently unavailable new, so I may have to improvise for a while until Brinly starts selling them again. I also didn't use the turning brakes on the 782 as much as I thought I would, but they certainly helped with traction in the muddy areas - I've plowed a lot of wet ground with the 782 over the years and still haven't gotten it stuck.

Great footage and photos man, love the truck , thats a heck of a tractor towing machine. Looks like a great time, when i finally get a machine plow worthy ill have to give this a try

Those garden tractor plows hardly go in the ground

Yeah with a 12" moldboard they're only able to cut about 6" deep - if you're lucky. I added weight to mine to help dig into the harder soils.
