Let’s be real it’s not just higher difficulties. Even on normal, you’re constantly being harassed by range attacks and leaping melee attacks. charging up a shot or Power is a challenge at times
Doing on underdog so might be different to the next difficulty but the aoe control ability that rains poison arrows is really good like really good for helping you charge up since enemies will be stunned in it and will cancel lot of their abilities. With the veiljumper ability where area abilities apply shock and when max shock does electricity it keeps procing in the ability. With the passive of slowing time when aiming can not worry really of range or enemies and they can one shot mages especially if have the bow that shoots 3 arrows it goes with veiljumper ability of shooting multiple arrows if hit the head.

I am playing through on Underdog with a Veil Ranger and coming a long really well. The Companion Time slow ability is key. Makes safely aiming to weak points so much easier and you can get 2-3 in per cast. I also use a lot of invulnerable (rune, and companion ability). It seems like a lot of work but amped up weakpoint shots do so much damage to make it all worth it.
Veil ranger looks super OP but like inquisition before it, the saboteur class is apparently nuts. I'm doing a melee duelist right now but this will be my next rogue. With a save slot limit on console doing every spec isn't really feasible.
Make a save when you hit level 20- then you can branch off and try each spec..same character- but you can have multiple save slots for each of your 3 characters (mage, rogue, warrior)
Thanks for this build guide dude! I was very underwhelmed by Veil Ranger builds so swapped to this build and it feels much better, even in Early/Mid game (before I got the nice bow). I didn’t want to run a melee rogue for my Veil Jumper run so this is a great alternative to that.
Had to come back to let you know this build is dope! I’ve been annoyed cause Davrin and Emmerich keep just standing around doing nothing during fights unless I tell them to combo, but this build has kept me alive even with them being useless! Heck one time a door closed as a fight started and they were both outside the room for some reason, still killed it.
I personally like to use the Dualist Coat. +4 arrows 300% stagger on every fourth hits I need to upgrade it so that at maximum momentum I won't use any arrows.
I was already playing *almost* this build. I'll be adding the Reeling bolt as that is a really good idea. Been using Bellara's Tear ability for a similiar purpose. I just got the Rip and Grip right before watching this video and had dismissed it as being a bit meh because of the damage reduction. I didn't realise it stacked the necrosis, so I'm off to try it out. Great video :)

I’m already finding that utilizing your companions’ skills, pairing them appropriately and connecting everyone’s skills is crucial to combat. I just beat the game as a rogue on nightmare, and honestly this charged bow spec that people use.. I just can't, it's like a surprise when I actually get a good charge shot off. I really focused on momentum generation applying burn and storms path. Easily get damage cap crits all the time and I get to roll around and spam my abilities. Redouble rune to start with full momentum. Crown of leaves to get full momentum on ult use, run with Lucanis and Harding and use their adrenaline rush ability to basically always have ultimate, you can also use that unique belt to help keep your ultimate up. I ran a ring that changed all afflictions I applied to only be burning. I had a ton of fun with this game.

U dont need to worry about enemy agression u want davrin for taunt + nice utility and i use neeve for aoe perma freeze so i can do allot easy weakpoint(headshot) dmg arround 6k+ now gear not yet optimized. Rain of arrows with allot of ability dmg perma shock on hit and high stagger dmg + crit for easy aoe clear when neeve aoe freezes❤ love the build so far only had 2 defeats *wipes*

Well, left click while right clicking is exactly for that gap close issues, after that you can one more step dodge and you get an entire range between you and the enemy while they are staggered due to explosion. Veil Ranger also one shots range enemies with weakpoint. Traps are good but it's focused on disable rather then damage build and none of the companions come even close to player when it comes to damage.
I use a similar build! using that realing shot skill,explosive trap and that explosive knife skill, main focus is on blast and trap damage but I also go heavy into passives that help stack necrotic, and bleed with fire on my armor just so I can swipe with my blades while I dance mid range with my bow.
i dont see anyone say this but under the enchant tab in the workshop in the light house there is an option to put enchantments on your abilities as well
also I've gone a slightly different route - using the potion steal skill instead of the arrow skill you're using that applies weakened) and having an absolute blast just chunking things with the turret & explosive trap which is busted. Using the area damage & aoe increase nodes lets it hit the entire screen (nasty!) and I'm sitting on permanent max momentum so using some abiltiies to take advantage of that too. also the most busted node in the entire tree has to be + arrows = % damage per extra arrow, jeeepers.
One question: Can the swords glow/have blue effects, like cold demage, instead of the green glow? I love frost themed builds, but LOVE the rogue in this. So it would be awesome if I could have frost swords, so to speak.

Yeah. It’s like your companions don’t exist unless you have a taunt for a few seconds. Everything comes at you, and ignores them.

Sabo is perfect mid range as a shotgun bow user counting arrows so you know when to use your poison AOE arrow and dropping your skills

The unique ring that makes your abilities alwaus crit is nuts on saboteur. The turret melts minions and explosive trap has even more burst

@montanaSD big tree in the crossroads. Have to kill 50 darkspawn in the crossroads for it to open.

Sabo is fking broken, like I constantly keep all my buffs aka advantages up via stagger kills.
Is there any pickpocketing in this game? I want to play a rogue because pickpocketing is fun. Otherwise I’ll do a wizard
