I haven’t played Veilguard enough to say BUT in DA:Inquisition I would always make hilariously broken tank builds! where my character and Blackwalls skills stacked together in a way that made me and my party more or less invincible! Dual champions just buffing defense to outlast even the strongest Dragons and bosses lol
Loving this game! Started as an Elf Mage, then created a Dwarven Rogue just because and now you goong to make me create a Qunari Warrior! So much replayability!
Necrotic Jade is a good Ring to slot in for this build, too. 20% Necrosis Dam, 20% Dam vs enemies with Necrosis, 25% Necrosis Duration, and +1 Necrosis stacks.
This makes me think I might need a warrior build… for my fourth playthrough. Currently, I’m running with an elven rogue Antivan Crow… headed toward a duelist build. Have plans for my second and third run, but this really looks like fun. Thanks
This is what I was looking for, thanks! Kinda bummed it’s necrotic though. Doesn’t really vibe with my noble warrior I was going for lol Have to say I was having more fun with the warrior though than rogue which is what I was initially planning
The Mournwatch is the most "heroic" and "noble" faction of all if you ask me. They take care of all Undead Threats (which are the most common) and rogue necromancer who use it for evil. meanwhile you have the veil jumpers, who only do what they do out of curiousity. the shadow dragons a self proclaimed resistance group that are basically street thugs. the crows which are a hitman group. the wardens who are the epitome of "old and corrupted by power" and the lords of fortune who are mercs for hire.
Ayeeee im also running a build similar to this. Im not sure if the two handed weapon effects apply to your attacks if you're not specifically using the two handed weapon. But if they do, the Emberborn Shard has a tier 1 affix that gives you 25% Affliction Damage
I come across a weapon mithals light hmmm i dont know how dmg on shield is working because it is an element weapon can it be solve the problem with darkspan
I started with such a build in early game, but was a bit underwhelmed, so I respecced into a stagger/eliminate build. Maybe I give it another try with more skill points and access to a specialization.
This has nothing to do with the build itself, but does the game ever explain how the warrior does all this necromantic stuff? Like how the Reaver in Origins and Inquisition had to drink dragon blood to mutate, and the Templars drink lyrium. Do Mortalitasi bind spirits to them or something?
So I found the helmet. The name must have changed with a patch, because it's now called the Field-Commander's Helm. It can be picked up by beating the Champion in Hossberg Wetlands.
i cant seem to do the shield volley attack i always hold attack after throwing the shield but it doesnt work, just shoots out a normal charged attack. what am i doing wrong?
There is a unique (ring?) that changes all affliction damage into fire/burning. I haven’t tested but it should shake this build up significantly and open other skills
the mage seems the most interesting first but is the most boring of all really quick, since can spam burn everything, due to your ressource maxing itself without the need of buildup. warrior and rogue need to generate their ressource first before they can use abilities
I hate reaper and necrotic damage thematically so really would love to find a strong shield build that doesn’t use those. Same reason I haven’t been playing duelist since it is all necrosis
Champion seems to be quite strong as a shield build. Lot's of shield buffs and it has a passive that adds 50% of your defense to your shield damage. This increases your shield's base damage, so all percent based damage increases are added on top. This should work as a shield toss build as well as a heavy attack shield bash build. Although haven't unlocked it yet to try it out myself.
For a class wich is the "tank" out of the 3, you can't last much on melee range on highest dif, you can block enemies yeah ( and ofc evade red area moves... ), but when you are on melee range ALL enemies are on you and you can't block all em, best way to play, at least early on ( level 9, char gets hammered quick in short range, despide all rolls and blocks ), is doing something like this build, dunno if gear, or champion changes this ( it's freaking level 20, that's not early on lol ) at wich point you must ask yourself, why not restart as a mage and rogue wich are way better at it lol. Respec'd into a shield toss build ( i love em on game that allow to throw shields btw ), but was not my intention when i started my playthrough... seriously debating restarting again as mage i feel so out of character atm 🙃
Seems like the best thing you can do for warrior early is just spec for all the rage generation perks and spam kick to knock enemies off ledges, or take 2 mage companions and spam weakened detonation.
there is, it coming in 2025? Called marvel 1942 rise of hydra, in it he teams up with black panther (T'Challa's grandfather Azurri) and is set during WW2 before he got frozen
What's you're favourite warrior spec?

I thought I was listening to Dantics for a min there. I'm following your Rogue archer/turret build whatever you called it!
I probably won’t do a warrior build but still enjoyed this :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm loving the combats in this game. Specially the warrior that I prefer to my mage as of now, thanks for this build. also, your character rocks
Rolling into an enemy area and clearing it out with one shield toss bouncing all over just feels awesome.

I just dropped the unique helmet, it has the exact same stats and location, but is not called Magebane but "Field-Commanders Helm".
same

Warrior has been my favorite so far
I started with such a build in early game, but was a bit underwhelmed, so I respecced into a stagger/eliminate build. Maybe I give it another try with more skill points and access to a specialization.
You can also reflect the shield with your 2h using light attacks :)
Question ring of andraste have you swap it in and out or does it automatik work on darkspan ?
so this build only works for qunari since the helmet is vitaar ?

Toss shield count as projectile or range dmg? Just to be sure about some passives Im using
Ranged damage, projectile typically refers to projectile abilities.
Do you remember where you get the helm? Couldn't find any info on it.

It should tell you when you hover over the "shield volley" trait. On pc it's shift and left click when it returns.

the mage seems the most interesting first but is the most boring of all really quick, since can spam burn everything, due to your ressource maxing itself without the need of buildup. warrior and rogue need to generate their ressource first before they can use abilities

This looks good. Any chance for a champion build too?
Where did u find the redouble rune?
Where did you get that helm from.
Where did you find redouble rune?
May I ask that the shield bounce only works if you charged the shield?
no it also bounces on a normal throw, the charge does more damage.
