Good Job mate. I am in Brisbane. I built a 3DOF (wheel chair Motors XSIM) about 2 years, but now i am making a new one, Servo Motors 4DOF with SIMTOOL.
Oh really! Ive read your thread back when i was starting out! Nice! Are you doing an sfx100 build? You should definitely give PTMover a go man. You'll be well impressed I think. Are you going to run a Thanos Controller? Another high reccomendation if you ask me.
@@peacemakermotion3949 I'm Making one similar to this ua-cam.com/video/Q2rdPTeZPx4/v-deo.html I have the Thanos AMC 1280, but I am looking to get the AMC AASD15A Servo controller.

Hi Mate...I'm in Melbourne, I did the same thing spent so much and couldn't get anything to work a couple of years ago and i got so frustrated i gave up on motion part.. and seeing your video today mate has inspired me to try again... Hope i can get it working lol
Always happy to give some inspiration, mate! What rig were you building? 6dof? I ended up buying all new motors and modifying design and everything went like a breeze after that with these new stepper motors. It's just plug and play! Less components to worry about and fail. Good luck though, hit up xsimulator if you need some help :)
Fantastic editing on this one dude. And a great explanation for it all, love your work. Keen to try out a hexapod system one day and compare it to a platform.
ohh man, respect!! haha. I just watched it again and its crazy to think its almost been a year and how much its changed and how far the scene has come since this. Great time to be building motion platforms that's for sure!! :) Which route are you going? Odrive or Thanos?
Thank you for a great video! Yes please do share more! I've now been hooked and working on my own sim for a while. Wheel etc blows my mind still when playing but now I need more! =) Thanks again!
yeah man that never ending chase for MORE!! its a dangerously slippery (and expensive) slope to get on but you'll love every minute, trust me!! good luck in your endeavours man.
Glad to be of some motivation. :) I'm always looking for ways to stay motivated haha, its very easy to give up with these things. Good luck with the build, i'll keep an eye out for it.
Great one! Hope there will be more content! So - your trial for this video, in my eyes, was a success! Go on please. Question: Will/Could you share links to threads you discussed this project in the forums you presented?
Nice job on a beautiful toy and an awesome shout out to the people in the sim field (Thanos is my favourite). Do you happen to have your "final" actuator plans available? Enjoy the ride.
Thanks for the kind words, mate! Yeah, you have to give credit where credit is due. I'm glad Thanos has stuck around and continued to build on his foundation to give us what we have today, a simple, effective, surefire way to connect these beasts up :) If you head over to my xsim build thread i have the 3d files there and some rig dimensions, no fancy 3d rig or actuator assemblies.. i just wing it and model stuff individually off badly hand drawn schematics haha. i'll hopefully have an actuator teardown/build video up in the next week or so.
@@peacemakermotion3949 I have been following your thread on X-sim, but I seem to have overlooked your "newest" version of the actuators. I will be keeping an eye on you :-)
G-day... was following X-Sim a few years back when the Oculus Rift launched on KickStarter.. Then took another look after building a Prusa i3 & am now back... Am guessing here.. but total price ball park figure for the build (minus PC / Car sim gear ) approx. $5K yes ??
Tell me the software isn't the difficult part. That's what scares me. Not the welding and fabrication. The game has motion and somehow that gets converted to tell whatever number of motors you have to move in. Whatever certain way to simulate that motion, that's what I need to understand better to get over the fear.
found these videos and was very intersted. just curious how the wiring goes together? are their any guides on it mostly as this is quite the most difficult part
sorry bro, didnt see this until now. With the thanos controller its all plug and play with DB25 cables. the only wiring needed is the mains power to the AASD servo drivers. What a time to be alive, right!? haha
Would you be able to give an approximate cost for the project? I'm thinking about buying/building one but not sure which route I should go. I have a pretty busy lifestyle so time is hard to come by to do a project like this. However, I am very mechanically inclined and love tinkering so it's right up my alley. I'm mainly into DCS in VR but also race from time to time. BTW, awesome rig mate!
Thanks man. It's about $5k AUD. It is a fairly full on project but having the ability to plug and play servo motors with thanos's controller saves a lot of messing around and lets you just focus on construction.
@@peacemakermotion3949 would you be able to point me in the right direction for where I should start with my research and maybe some tips/tricks or do/don’t that you learned along the way? I assume Thanos controllers are from the xsimulator.net community?
