  • In this video I was looking to use something like carpet but ended up going to Bunnings and finding a door mat which looked perfect for what I wanted for running a gold sluice and I also talk about a coil which I’m finding small and deep gold. #gold #goldprospecting #goldpanning

Wow Glenn’O you killed it for color with that door matt. Even our brothers in Indonesia use these same matt’s and get really good color in their Batea pans. I may try this , next time I go out to the krik. Hope I get same smashing color as yourself. Sweet sharing of the Neanderthal ways. That a prospector can just borrow the neighbors door matt and get good color. Enjoyed watching and glad to see your doing well with the 6000 as well. Good on ya brother ✌️👊🇦🇺⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️😀

Look's like they had emptied there Porter lie straight on the ground instead of digging a hole and covering it up , discussing . Hi Glen, Bunnings has been a good hunting ground for potential gold matts, V rubber non slip matts, the miners moss, etc even cheap alloy tool boxes cut up to make river sluices. Always looking for alternative product uses. Lovely colour at the end of the day.😊 Campers😪 that have no idea, we take a bucket , bag and a old dunny seat and lid. Seal the bucket with its lid, no smell no flys no spill. Then despose of it at home or approved waste dumps. Shits ya the way i always come home with more rubbish than I take !!! 😡 thank for the adventure

Great day out Glenno , yeah , and ain't it been windy for a long time , it's really drying everything out . Very nice gold too mate . I've seen the Indonesians and Malaysian miners using a mat in the creek , they just pack mud on the creek bottom and lay out their mat , put 4 rocks on the corners and tip their material on the mat and wash it with the Batea pans and manipulate the material with their hands while tipping water over it , it works well . The old Bunnings Doormat works a treat , can't complain about the price either , lol 🤣. Nice haul of Gold too matey , gotta be happy with that lot , Excellent work . 👌👍✅ Cheers Ned .

Glen you are an awesome prospector and an absolute master of finding gold. And it's beautiful well deserved gold.
Yes its a disgrace the way people trash the environment. I was out porters retreat last summer and the rangers had the river closed off and I could see why..
There was everything from babies nappies to cigarettes butts and beer bottles.. It's just pathetic.. And these same people call themselves patriotic aussies... What a load of crap.
Keep up the great work and I'm definitely going to give those doormats a go to save lugging a sluice through the scrub.
But I just need to master find the good gold spot as you already have.. All I ever seem to get is tiny specs and shotgun pellets 😅👍

We use our Bunnings mat to clean up Rotapan tailings. When we set it up we will generally bring the edges up to make it have little sloped sides.
Have also found that banging it out the next morning after it has dried gives up a bit more fine gold
